The last two seasons of Summer House featured major cast breakups. During Season 9, Paige DeSorbo called off her romance with Southern Charm star Craig Conover. And the season before that, Carl Radke ended his engagement to co-star Lindsay Hubbard. And Season 10 Summer House viewers will see Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s marriage implode.

In January 2026, before the show premiered, Kyle and Amanda announced their separation. They were married for four years, but were an item for a decade. The news didn’t exactly shock the Bravo-verse. Now, Carl is weighing in on his friends’ decision to part ways.

Summer House OG Carl Radke said “sometimes love isn’t enough”

According to Amanda, there was no “one final straw” that broke the proverbial camel’s back. And she doesn’t feel that a reconciliation at this time is likely. Meanwhile, Carl is being supportive of both sides.

“I think we all should pause and just give Amanda everything we can and support her. I’m obviously supporting Kyle,” Carl told DECIDER. “I love them dearly. It’s not easy putting it all out there like they have for the last 10 years.”

When asked if Kyle’s budding career as a DJ was the cause of the couple’s split, Carl didn’t deny it. “I think there are a lot of variables. I think that’s something that you can point to. But there’s a lot more than his music career,” Carl explained.

He continued, “They have different personalities and some things that maybe weren’t complimentary, I guess. I think they loved each other dearly.” Carl added, “But sometimes love isn’t enough.”

During the press events for Summer House, Carl was glad to see them in a good space. “It made me really happy to see them getting along and friendly, and everything was pretty good, honestly, all things considered,” he said. Meanwhile, Carl and Lindsay are working their way back to being friends after their messy breakup.

Season 10 of Summer House literally just started, but we’re already looking at what’s next. After the Summer House season premiere, Bravo shared a first look at their upcoming spinoff show, In The City. It gave us a glimpse at the first three castmembers: Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and Lindsay Hubbard. Carl Radke, on the other hand? He was nowhere to be found.

Bravo first announced this Summer House spinoff in September of last year, right as cameras were rolling. The network didn’t confirm any casting details, but insiders teased that Lindsay, Kyle, and Amanda had already signed on, in addition to Andrea Denver and his wife, Lexi Sundin.

At the time, sources said that Carl’s involvement with the spinoff remained unclear as he focused on the launch of his alcohol-free hangout, Soft Bar. Now that Bravo has given us a first look at the cast, it’s starting to seem like he won’t be on this show. Time will tell.

The new teaser for In The City says that “seasons change” as Lindsay, Kyle, and Amanda pose in a New York City park in earth-toned outfits. The caption read, “We heard fall is just as fun! It’s official, new series #InTheCity is on the way. More to come…?.”

According to the show’s official synopsis, In The City will follow “a group of New Yorkers” navigating the “biggest transitions of their lives – marriage, parenthood, reinvention and the reality of growing up without growing apart.”

With Kyle and Amanda’s marriage collapsing and Carl being fully MIA from this teaser, it seems like some growing apart might have happened after all. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.

Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 1, the premiere! Last season, Ciara was at odds with both West and Jesse (let’s put #toegate firmly behind us), and Amanda and Kyle had babies on the brain. Meanwhile, Lindsay surprised everyone with the announcement she was preggers. And Paige surprised everyone by saying goodbye to Craig and leaving the show. So, what drama does the crew have in store for us this time around? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 1: “Red, White, and Nude.”

What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 1?

The tenth season kicked off with a lot of newbies, and the OGs approved of their vibe. However, the main theme of the episode was the enormous tension between Kyle and Amanda. And this left their friends concerned. Still, some relationships were on the mend, like Ciara and West’s. Ciara was planning to live the motto: summer should be fun! And even though the Bed Bugs were down a member, they happily accepted Jesse into the fold.

We are back! Didn’t you all miss the oddly specific times on this show? We started on Thursday, July 3, 12:38pm, to be exact. And right out of the gate Amanda and Kyle were at odds, with Amanda wanting to ride up to the Hamptons with Ciara instead. Amanda quipped, “He’s so distraught I chose to drive out with different people.” 

They also picked up two newbies, Bailey, an influencer (not to be confused with last season’s Bailee), and her bestie, Levi, an event planner. They explained they met on Instagram, and it was love at first sight. Amanda then lamented about Kyle being a DJ. 

Cut to five weeks earlier. She told Ciara, “I wanted him to stop going out and partying, and he found a career where he goes out late and parties. And I’m like, ‘Should I be mad about this?’” 

Meanwhile, Kyle rode up with Carl and Jesse. Carl was hoping to room on the first floor to “get in the mix,” while Jesse was open to rooming again with West. What he wouldn’t do, however, was come in hot with another girl again. We shall see.

West drove up with newbie, KJ, who is a model and professional skateboarder. And he’s from West’s home state of Missouri. West described KJ as “very mild mannered, and then around three to four tequila sodas, he’ll throw his grill in, flip his hat backwards, and start to rage.”

Although KJ didn’t seem like he was going to rage anytime soon. He noted that he just survived getting his heart broken. West advised him not to date someone from the house. He was still clearly shaken from Ciara’s Traitors-style takedown of him last season. 

Jesse was an honorary Bed Bug

The time-honored tradition of a janky front door was no more. The ladies opened it with ease. Ciara cheered, “To the first weekend of the summer of y’all’s lives.”

West grabbed some liquid courage before wandering over to Ciara. However, Ciara had different plans this season. She said in her confessional, “My goal is for the summer is I’m not going to eat him alive. I’m working on being less rigid; I’m working on being less of a b*tch.”

Soon after, the rest of the guys showed up, but no one had grabbed the luggage the ladies left out in the driveway. Kyle said it was about to start raining, so they should bring it in. When Ciara looked at him to do it, Kyle scoffed. 

Ciara said in her confessional, “Kyle is my friend. But I don’t like when I hear things from Amanda about how she’s being treated, and then I have to sit there and smile and giggle in your face knowing these things, but I can’t get involved because it’s not my marriage.”

Everyone then ran around to pick their rooms. Carl got his wish for the first-floor bedroom and happily saged away. He was living his best life and finally felt like “a real human being.”

Ciara and Jesse then caught up in his room. The two shared it was weird without Paige around. Jesse said, “She’ll be hard to replace, but I’ll gossip with you and Amanda.” Ciara noted he could be part of the “Gossip Girls,” but he’d have to keep his mouth shut. 

Jesse was just happy to be included and that Ciara was planning to have positive vibes towards his bestie, West.

Bailey got dumped at the salad bar

The first meal of the season was some fancy pizza and salad. Carl cheered; they were all single, minus Kyle and Amanda. Amanda brought up that Kyle lost his wedding ring, so she wasn’t going to wear hers until he found it. Jesse joked, “It’s okay, you guys can cosplay as single.”

And speaking of troubled relationships, Levi shared she just got out of a toxic twelve-year one. Bailey chimed in that she was recently dumped at a Sweetgreen. Amanda gasped, “Not at Sweetgreen!” Bailey started crying as she told the story of how her boyfriend jetted off to LA. The worst part of it all was she had bought him the most expensive salad to boot. 

Bailey changed subjects to Kyle being a DJ. The tension continued when Amanda said Kyle chose that career just to “spite” her. As Kyle talked about the joys of DJing, Amanda whispered to Ciara, “I love how he’s spinning this. No pun intended.” 

It was now time to go and party, which meant Amanda and Ciara headed straight to bed. Jesse hopped in with them, and even West tried to join. Amanda asked why he was hanging with them instead of the new girls. West responded, “Because they are crying.”

Meanwhile, Kyle complained about Amanda in his room. He said, “Every summer Amanda just makes me feel like I don’t exist.” Kyle shared in his confessional he hoped to rekindle things with her this summer, but that didn’t seem to be a possibility. 

After everyone left, Amanda told Ciara about her issues with Kyle. She said, “He finishes his set, he hangs out with the owners, he goes out with fans.” She added she was numb to the cheating rumors. And that scared her. 

Carl was concerned about Kyle

The next day was the Fourth of July, and it was time for West’s county fair-themed party. But first, the last newbie arrived. Kyle and Amanda’s friend Ben wandered in. West screamed, “He’s so handsome!” Ben gave warm hugs all around. 

Amanda explained they met him at their friend’s wedding in Italy, and she was skinny dipping. Jesse said, “You’ve seen Amanda’s boobs? I’ve never even seen them.” Kyle was not amused.

Carl caught up with Ciara and shared in another place and time they would be a happy couple. He dished he really wanted to have a family and didn’t want it to happen when he was ninety. Ciara joked he wasn’t as old as Kyle, although Kyle did not act his age. 

Carl agreed and said he only got to spend time with Kyle if he went to one of his shows. He also expressed concern about Kyle’s relationship with Amanda. Why was he out DJing at a college on a Thursday night? 

He said in his confessional, “This kind of other life that he’s been leading the last twelve months, which is like DJing and hosting these parties, isn’t aligned with what should be going on in his life. Which is really committing to his wife, getting back to kind of a good foundation in his relationship, and planning for a future in that relationship.” 

The worrying was put on hold because it was time to set up for the party. There was going to be a pie-eating contest, kissing booth, and petting zoo. Amanda decided to chill with Ben and Ciara instead and informed Ciara that Ben was on the Australian version of The Bachelor. As they caught up, the vibes were definitely vibing between Ben and Amanda. 

Kyle was worried he couldn’t make Amanda happy

The Fourth of July party was in full swing. Ciara’s favorite part was the petting zoo, and she noted West must have done it for her. She told Jesse, “Intentional or not, it’s a great peace offering.”

Ciara then caught up with Amanda. They were missing Lindsay, so they FaceTimed her, and she was happily playing with her daughter. This led Ciara to ask Amanda if she still wanted kids. She did but said Kyle’s DJing made it so he was never home. 

Amanda said, “I’m like you’re putting yourself in compromising situations where people are assuming the worst. To be completely honest with you, I think something that’s really tough for me is when the whole internet is rooting for our divorce.”

Meanwhile, Carl checked in on Kyle and asked if he was happy. Kyle said he was happy “showing people a good time, pressing play.” When he asked if he thought Amanda was happy, Kyle responded, “I don’t know what’s going to make her happy. But I don’t know if I can do it. When I actually say it out loud, it becomes a little more real, and it scares me.”

After the serious discussions, Ciara started a pie fight by throwing one in West’s face. But Amanda started a fight of her own when she “skinny dipped” in the pool with see-through underwear on. Kyle was livid and told her she was “absurd.” It was going to be a long summer for those two.

Carl Radke has been sober since 2021, which has not exactly been easy on a show like Summer House. The Bravo series is built around cast members partying their way through the Hamptons, so Carl’s decision to quit has always stood out. That same honesty is now part of a much bigger conversation.

Chrissy Teigen, the model, wife of singer John Legend, and longtime Bravo fan, recently said a conversation with Carl helped her stop drinking again after she slipped. Her post quickly caught attention and prompted Carl to weigh in.

Chrissy Teigen credited Carl Radke for her sobriety

Chrissy recently sat down with Carl on her Self-Conscious podcast to talk about recovery. After she shared her post about relapsing and getting sober again, Decider caught up with Carl while he was promoting the new season of Summer House and his More Life podcast.

“It’s overwhelming in the best way,” Carl told them. “I’m so, so proud of her. She’s going to help a lot of people.”

Carl said their conversation felt deeply personal. “Even when we were talking during the podcast, the things she was saying to me were so honest and so vulnerable,” he said. “She said things that I don’t know if she’s said publicly. I felt honored and flattered.”

Chrissy explained in her January 28 post that she “went back to drinking” after being sober for “a little over a year.” What started as a glass of wine with her husband John Legend slowly became a steady habit.

“The time went from 6 p.m., to 5, to 4, to aw hell, it’s lunch, why not,” she wrote. “When it got to 11 a.m., I was like, oh fuck, here we go again.”

She said it was not messy, but it was constant. “It was just quiet and consistent,” she wrote. “And god, I felt like shit.”

Within the same week she spoke with Carl, Chrissy said she stopped drinking again. She is now over 50 days sober “with no desire to turn back.”

Carl said getting sober is “not a linear path.” In his case, it took two years to fully quit alcohol and drugs. “I really applaud her,” he said. “But I told her, we’re in this together, and I’m here for you.”

“I can’t believe she posted,” he added. “I’m blown away.”

Just ahead of Summer House’s milestone 10th season, Carl sat down with US Weekly. During their chat, he admitted that “99 percent of reality shows don’t make it past one season.” Coming in with a slightly larger fraction, Carl next stressed that “99.9 percent don’t make it to two seasons.” So, since Summer House is soon returning for Season 10, Carl now feels “very lucky” for this longstanding paycheck.

Carl added, “So the mindset [going into this summer was], ‘Let’s send it, let’s have fun. Let’s not leave anything not discussed, turn over every stone, and let’s have the most fun we can have, because we’ve never known how long this is gonna go.’” As for Kyle Cooke, who was also in attendance, he noted, “I was just super proud going [into filming with Amanda Batula], and how candid and open and honest we’ve been historically, but especially Season 10.”

As fans know, Amanda and Kyle recently announced their split. So, in Season 10,  we will see “existing romantic partners confront some of the challenges that threw them off course, for lack of a better way to put it. And you see some forgiveness, willingness to forget, and truly try to restore and rekindle,” Kyle revealed. He added, “I think that’s pretty unique.”

As this newly established DJ ended, “I feel like you don’t get a lot of that on reality TV these days. It’s oftentimes what kills a show — people just incapable of trying to evolve and move on.”

Summer House star Carl Radke has always been open about his struggle with addiction. He also dealt with the death of his brother, Curtis, from an overdose in 2020. Summer House cameras were rolling when Carl received the call from his mother about his brother’s tragic passing.

In Carl’s candid memoir, Cake Eater: Getting High, Hitting Low: And Trying to Stay in the Middle, which is out December 30, he delves into the early dynamics of his family life and his brother’s struggles with addiction. However, it seems that Carl’s battle with addiction and pathway to sobriety is a major focus of his book.

The Summer House star opens up about his battle with addiction in his new book

According to US Weekly, in his memoir, Carl detailed how he tried cocaine for the first time in college at Syracuse University. “It’s so easy to see the red flags now. Blackouts were becoming increasingly frequent,” Carl wrote. “So were risky behaviors, like the time I ended up with blood all over my face with no recollection as to how after a drunken hookup, or the night I slept in a bed soaked with piss because neither I nor my partner could wake up enough to deal with it.” He added, “These weren’t just wild college stories; they were signs of a serious problem brewing under the surface.”

When Carl started filming for Summer House, he was abusing cocaine, alcohol, and Adderall. Carl wrote of his experience on Season 1, “What viewers didn’t see was how often I’d hide in the bathroom, splashing water on my face, giving myself pep talks to make it through another day of filming.”

It seems that Carl didn’t go into great detail about his broken engagement to co-star Lindsay Hubbard. Instead, he kept on theme, discussing recovery and moving forward. Cake Eater: Getting High, Hitting Low: And Trying to Stay in the Middle is available now.

Needless to say it went well, and the pair may be headed to more nights out together. As their relationship is forming in the public eye, of course fans have been weighed in on what they think of the new couple. Their fellow cast members have also chipped into the discussion, including Venita’s co-star Salley Carson.

Salley thinks Carl is “super sweet”

Salley was a recent guest on the Two T’s in a podcast. During the segment, she gave her thoughts on the budding relationship between Venita and Carl.

“He is super sweet. I actually think that they would be a good fit for each other. I’ve met him a few times, and I really like him. She deserves a good guy,” she said in the December 29 episode.

Her approval isn’t shocking as she’s also dated in Bravo outside of the show’s cast. She had a brief fling with The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys heartthrob Steven McBee Jr..

Anyways, it looks like there’s something truly there between Venita and Carl, which would be nice for both of the Bravolebs. The only issue that may come up is the fact that they are long distance. With Venita living in South Carolina and Carl in NYC, they have to both make an effort to make this work. Fingers crossed!

On Southern Charm last season, Venita had a confusing situationship with Jarrett “JT” Thomas that ultimately ended with him blocking her. And Summer House viewers can’t forget the disastrous end of Carl’s engagement to Lindsay Hubbard.

Venita gave an update on her dating life when she appeared on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Venita revealed that, two weeks before the interview, she and Carl went on an official date. The Southern Charm star told podcast host Amanda Hirsch that their first date was “very nice.” The evening began at Soft Bar, Carl’s non-alcoholic venue. Venita said she got to “see the whole experience.”

The 32-year-old continued, “Then, we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant around the corner.” The date went so well, Carl and Venita “had to be asked to leave” the restaurant and “shut the place down.” All in all, Venita revealed that the date “lasted for almost five hours. We were together, the whole day, for about five hours.” Sure sounds like the reality stars hit it off!

Venita gushed that Carl was “sweet.” And she made sure to be very mindful of his sobriety during their date. The fashionista revealed, “I literally texted him before we went on the date, and I was like, ‘Hey, like are you OK with if I drink?’ He was like, ‘Well, first of all, no one’s ever asked me that.’ I’m fine to not drink, and if someone’s trying to date someone or get to know someone better, they might not want their partner to drink. I was just like, ‘Oh, let me ask.’” Throughout the night, she just had one margarita.

Venita and Carl’s rumored romance made waves at BravoCon 2025

Romance rumors really kicked off after Venita and Carl’s comments about each other at BravoCon in November. On the Summer House panel, Carl shared, “I had a really nice time hanging out with Venita yesterday.” He gushed, “She’s beautiful, she’s really cool.” He revealed that they hung out when Venita visited the Hamptons house. So, expect to see Venita on Summer House Season 10. On another BravoCon panel, Venita said she would marry Carl in a game of FMK.

BravoCon wasn’t the first time the reality stars interacted. Or the first time Bravo fans shipped them together. In the podcast interview, Venita shared, “I feel like what really kind of sparked everything is when we did NBC Upfronts last year, there was a photo of us and our hands were just touching.” She continued, “Mind you, I never really thought anything about him until that moment. Then the internet blew it up.” After that, Venita admitted, she and Carl “kept being cheeky with each other.”

Which Summer House star played Cupid for Venita and Carl?

Both Carl and Venita confirmed that they were set up by his Summer House castmate Ciara Miller, who is good friends with Venita. Interestingly enough, Carl had a crush on Ciara on Summer House last season. Ciara also had a failed romance with Venita’s co-star Austen Kroll.

Recently, Ciara made headlines for defending Venita against backlash from Southern Charm viewers. Venita was criticized for her feud with Craig, which kicked off when she took Paige’s side in the public breakup. In a TikTok comment, Ciara wrote, “Imagine being the only black girl on a predominately white cast in the SOUTH. No one ever sees Venita’s side. And her cast only expects her to be submissive to their opinions and limelight.” While she didn’t name Craig specifically, Ciara also alleged that another main cast member refused to film with Venita. And, in doing so, tried to push her off the show.

Venita was asked about this elsewhere in the interview. She said that Ciara’s comment did help other people see her perspective. And she confirmed that Craig refused to film with her on Southern Charm this season.

While some Southern Charm fans are critical of Venita, others see her side. Many applauded Ciara for being a supportive friend. Who may even bring new love into Venita’s life! For now, we’ll have to keep watching to see if Venita and Carl’s connection turns into something more. But a five hour date is a promising start!

There might be a new Bravo couple emerging, and fans are one thousand percent obsessed with it. Southern Charm star Venita Aspen just revealed that she went on a date with Carl Radke from Summer House. And it sounds like it went pretty well because she says it lasted for nearly five hours!

Carl and Venita’s connection was one of the sweet things that came out of the chaos of BravoCon 2025. During a panel, Carl raved about Southern Charm’s resident fashionista. He said he’d been enjoying hanging out with Venita, calling her “beautiful” and “really cool.”

Apparently, that energy made its way out of BravoCon and into the real world. Venita recently appeared on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, and she said they went on a date that lasted “for about five hours” when she was recently in New York City.

According to Venita, they stayed at the Mexican restaurant until it closed. She said they “had to be asked to leave,” so it sounds like things were really going well. She said from beginning to end, the date lasted “for about five hours.” Cute right?

Venita also shared that her connection to Carl started long before BravoCon. They were introduced via his Summer House castmate, Ciara Miller. Then, things seemed to spark at last year’s NBC Upfronts.

“I feel like what really kind of sparked everything is when we did NBC Upfronts last year, there was a photo of us and our hands were just touching,” Venita said. “Mind you, I never really thought anything about him until that moment. Then the internet blew it up.”

Internet pressure aside, it sounds like there could be a real connection. Venita gushed about how “sweet” Carl was, and come on. A five-hour date? Watch this space. Something might be blossoming.

Craig Conover knows Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula pretty well. So, when this Southern Charm star appeared on Watch What Happens Live, one of the questions he had to answer centered around their marriage. Craig oftentimes stirs the pot. So, many viewers, *raises hand*, likely leaned all the way in to hear his response.

Craig refused to be drawn on the rumor Amanda and Kyle are living separately

Last month, rumors about Amanda and Kyle’s marriage started swirling. One insider even claimed that these Summer House stars might be living separately. But then, a second source chimed in, insisting that they were “not on a break” but instead “going through a challenging time.” Regardless, they were both trying to see things through, and they were reportedly “committed to working on their relationship.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t their first “working on” things rodeo. In 2024, Kyle explained, “I mean, we’ve gone to therapy. We’ve worked on ourselves.” As he noted, “It’s very eye-opening getting to watch yourself back [on TV] and see how you handle different situations.”

As Kyle stressed last year, he and Amanda have “learned a lot and have grown from it. We’re still working on it.” Now, one year later, their former part-time filming buddy Craig appeared on WWHL. And while here, Andy Cohen asked Craig for an update about what he knows concerning their progress.

Reading from a fan’s question card, Andy asked, “What’s your reaction to the rumor that Amanda and Kyle are living separately, Craig?” Without any major expressions seen on his face, Craig maturely answered, “Oh. I’ve got so much going on. I can’t keep up.”

Andy next asked Craig a question of his own. Could Craig see Venita Aspen with Carl Radke? As fans know, Craig has complex relationships with both of these Bravo stars. But even still, Craig offered a kind response to this off-the-cuff question.

“If they like each other, go for it,” Craig said. Well played, sir.
