There’s a major update in the legal battle between Bravo, a former Below Deck camera operator, and Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast member Gary King.

Reality Tea reported on the case back in 2023, when a makeup artist named Samantha Suarez, along with camera operator Grey Duddleston, accused Gary of various instances of sexual misconduct while filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht in 2022.

Gary denied any wrongdoing, while Samantha and Grey claimed they were fired after reporting him. Bravo’s lawyers tried to force Grey into arbitration. However, a judge just ruled that things can move forward in court.

According to court documents reviewed by Deadline, NBCUniversal Media LLC, Bravo Media LLC, and Mountain View Productions LLC filed a motion to try to keep Grey bound to a mandatory arbitration agreement he signed at the time of his employment.

A Los Angeles judge just ruled against this. They cited the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021. If someone is potentially a victim of sexual assault or harassment, this law allows them to circumvent arbitration agreements and pursue their claims in court.

The claims in the lawsuit revolve around several incidents that occurred when filming BDSY Season 4 in Sardinia. Allegedly, Gary tried to hold Samantha hostage in a hotel room, and she feared he would sexually assault her.

Grey, who was Samantha’s boyfriend at the time, later claimed to have witnessed further misconduct from Gary. He said he watched Gary undo the bikini tops of two Below Deck cast members without their consent. He also claimed to have seen Gary grab two camera operators’ genitals and make inappropriate comments to a female audio technician.

In the lawsuit, Grey and Samantha accused Gary of being a “known drunkard and serial harasser.” Their lawsuit accuses him of sexual battery. They’re blaming the show’s production team for creating a hostile work environment, retaliation, and failure to prevent discrimination.

There’s another hearing scheduled for April 28, where defense attorneys will try to get Samantha’s claims tossed out of court. They intend to argue that Samantha, a Georgia resident, can’t sue in a California court over something that happened in Sardinia. Stay tuned as this continues to drag out in court.

For five seasons, Gary King has been the heartthrob on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The South African bosun has been involved in a love triangle and multiple boatmances. Viewers often watched as he drank a lot on crew nights out. However, after Season 4, Gary’s position on the series has been up in the air since a production assistant accused the First Officer of making unwanted sexual advances.

What happened to Gary King?

Not long after Season 4 came to an end in August 2023, Gary was accused of misbehaving. A woman on the production team spoke out to Rolling Stone and implied the show and network covered up Gary’s sexual indiscretions. Samantha Suarez shared about Gary crossing the line with her more than once when she worked in the makeup department. She went as far as to allege that during Season 4, Gary tried to force himself onto her. Season 4 was filmed in Sardina back in 2022.

The cast and crew were put up in hotels, and Samantha was in charge of assisting the talent manager. This included keeping the cast sequestered in their room due to the COVID-19 rules. Samantha also revealed she was asked to walk an intoxicated Gary back to his room. She told the outlet, “There is no limit to alcohol consumption whatsoever, which I think poses a really big problem.” Once in his room, she shared that Gary asked her to climb into his bed. Samantha claimed she said, “I was like, ‘I have to go — I need to go bring other people water and food,’ and he’s like, ‘No, no, please.”

Gary King has a checkered past

The assistant said she told the Below Deck Sailing Yacht star “that she would sit outside his door to make sure he wouldn’t leave his hotel room.” As Samantha tried to leave, she claimed Gary went behind her and “grabbed her and pressed her against his body, and refused to let go even though she says she tried to kick and elbow him.” In his defense, Gary took to his Instagram, writing, “Sad to see this has all been edited out of tonight’s episode. Scary how ones persons lies can ruin someone’s career and livelihood.” Additionally, the network chose to cancel Gary and remove him from the BravoCon lineup in 2023.

A year after the allegations, it was revealed that Gary, Bravo, NBCUniversal, and production companies 51 Minds and Endemol Shine are being sued. Samantha and camera operator Grey Duddleston have filed a lawsuit with the Superior Court of California. The lawsuit accuses the defendants of 16 claims, including sexual battery, assault, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and emotional distress. The complaint noted that on July 3, 2022, Gary allegedly held Samantha “hostage” as he restrained her from leaving the hotel room.

The lawsuit is a part of Bravo’s Reality Reckoning

In the suit, Samantha shared she was “sure she would be raped” and that Gary kept rubbing her back and “smirking.” The defendant claimed she reported the incident to production, but Gary only received a warning. Then Grey reported seeing Gary “untie the bikini tops of two female cast members without their consent, make lewd remarks to a female audio technician, and grab the genitals of two male camera operators,” the complaint states. Grey reported what he saw over the crew’s walkie-talkie system, 51 Minds allegedly opened an investigation into inappropriate walkie-talkie use by Grey “rather than imposing consequences for King.”

Gary, a “well-known drunkard and serial harasser,” was welcomed back to the show while Samantha and Grey were fired. The lawsuit claims that both women were placed on “do not hire” lists. These are “well known among the cast. And was typically reserved for crew members who had been kicked off the show for inappropriate behavior.” Since reporting the incidents, the two have claimed they have been unemployable. And their production careers have come to an end. Samantha and Grey are represented by Bryan Freedman and Mark Geragos. The lawyers have filed a series of similar suits as part of the “Reality Reckoning.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht bosun Gary King’s questionable behavior has finally caught up with him.

A former BDSY makeup artist has filed suit against both Bravo and Gary. She’s alleging that Gary sexually assaulted her while the show was filming back in 2022.

Reality Tea reported the production member’s allegations in August 2023. At the time, Samantha Suarez accused Gary of attempting to force himself on her during filming of BDSY Season 4.

Gary King allegedly held a production member hostage in his hotel room and attempted to sexually assault her

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Samantha alleges Gary acted inappropriately when she was asked to deliver a snack to his hotel room. In 2022, Covid restrictions required cast members to remain isolated in their rooms. In addition to makeup duties, Samantha delivered food and water to cast members isolated in their rooms.

When Samantha was in Gary’s room, she claims that he refused to allow her to leave. When she went to the door, she says he grabbed her, restraining her upper body and arms.

Gary had just finished filming some confessionals for the show, where he’d consumed unknown quantities of alcohol. It’s standard practice for producers to provide alcohol to cast members during interviews to make them more talkative.

Fearing she was about to be sexually assaulted, Samantha attempted to fight him off. She says he used his full weight to slam the door shut as she tried to leave, blocking her exit. Gary even suggested they should get into bed together, despite knowing she had a boyfriend.

Fortunately, Samantha’s phone rang while she was attempting to free herself. When she answered it and Gary realized they could be overheard, he finally allowed her to leave.

Though he initially admitted his behavior, Gary later denied the story amid support from his crewmates and Captain Glenn Shephard.

Samantha says her boyfriend, Grey Duddleston, a BDSY production member, also reported the incident. Though Gary admitted the accusations, both Samantha and Grey were eventually fired. They were also added to a “do not hire” list.

When Gary’s future on the popular franchise seemed in question, he tried to backtrack and deny he did anything wrong. Though he was uninvited from BravoCon 2023, he was still featured in BDSY Season 5, which had already completed filming. Not wanting to scrap an entire season already in the can, Gary’s scenes were reportedly edited for Season 5. He also turned on the charm for producers, “trying to stay” on television.

“I know [that I did nothing wrong],” he said, reversing his previous admission of guilt. “I know the truth, but it still hurts when people will tell lies to bring you down.”

Samantha is now suing Bravo and Gary for sexual battery, hostile work environment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and more. She is also seeking financial compensation.

TMZ reached out to NBC and Bravo, but received no comment in return.

In the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Finale, Gary King openly proclaimed his feelings for Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher.

In the past, Daisy has had something of a soft spot for Gary, even though his behavior can be problematic. He purposely came in between her and Season 4 love interest Colin MacRae. Season after season, he hooks up with one stew after another. However, his immaturity and excessive drinking make it hard for Daisy to take him seriously.

Gary’s pretty firmly stuck in the friend zone as far as Daisy is concerned. She cares about him as a friend, but that’s as far as it goes. But after telling Daisy he could see them together, are they even currently in touch?

Are Daisy Kelliher and Gary King speaking to each other?

On the Watch What Happens Live After Show following the BDSY finale, a fan had a question for Daisy. Judy from Long Island asked, “Do you have any idea if Gary’s taken his relationship with alcohol seriously in the off-season, especially since [Captain] Glenn confronted him about it tonight?”

“I don’t really know,” Daisy admitted. “I’ve heard murmurs … but that’s his relationship with alcohol and his thing. I try to stay out of it, [but] I hope he’s working on it.”

“Are you in touch with him right now?” host Andy Cohen asked.

“I would say, no,” Daisy responded. “It’s not like a ‘hard no’ that we’re not speaking to each other, we’re just not in touch.”

On the last crew night out in Ibiza, Gary once again confessed his feelings for Daisy. “I came into this season thinking, ‘I can reconcile my differences with Daisy,’” he said. “I wanted us to live a fairy tale life. We’ve had our ups and downs, but then we get together and live happily ever after. I have serious feelings for you.”

“Here we go again,” Daisy responded in frustration. “You can’t come at me saying that you have serious feelings … You say this sh*t, but you never act on it; you act so impulsively.”

Gary has some growing up to do. He may have dreams of being a captain someday, with Daisy by his side, but in reality, I suspect we’ve seen the last of Gary King.

We’re back with the recap for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 16, otherwise known as the finale. Last time, Captain Glenn relented on his threat to take the rule-breakers’ tip money and only charged them a fine. Chase argued with Gary about everything, and Glenn had to step in. Meanwhile, Danni and Chase hit a rough patch in their relationship. Here’s exactly what went down on the BDSY Season 5 Finale: “The Bitter End.”

What happened in Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 16, the finale?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 16

In this week’s episode, Chef Cloyce walks a tightrope through the guests’ numerous dietary restrictions, while Daisy tries to balance past and present as she considers her attraction to both Gary and Keith. Following an eventful final night out, the crew says their goodbyes to each other. Here are some of the highlights from the BDSY Season 5 Finale.

Preparing a sushi dinner for guests who don’t eat fish

On the final charter of the season, a lot of the guests have dietary restrictions. Primary guest Mary Lynn tells Daisy she was concerned that at lunch Diana didn’t know what she was serving, even though Cloyce explained everything to her.

“Diana is still making really simple mistakes,” Daisy confesses. “And it’s incredibly concerning, because [with] all these dietary restrictions, there really is no room for error.”

As Cloyce says, “I do not want to kill anyone on the last charter of the season … I have a charter of ladies who have the most dietary restrictions I have ever come across in my career. I’m cooking a sushi dinner for the primary, and multiple people at the table don’t even eat fish [including Captain Glenn]. There’s nothing to do but to laugh, bang my head against the wall, and then innovate.”

Not only does he have to be careful what he serves to each of them, but he also has to be aware of cross-contamination with his knives and utensils that have been used to prepare shellfish. It’s a nightmare.

Complicating the situation, the primary is napping in her cabin while her guests are sitting down to dinner. As Daisy explains, it’s very awkward since the primary is the one paying for the food.

Cloyce is also amazed that Mary Lynn ordered a sushi dinner for a table full of her friends who don’t eat seafood. It’s an odd situation.

“What are we even doing here?” he asks.

But Captain Glenn is very happy with the dinner Cloyce plates. “This is the perfect way to cap off this season,” he interviews. “What he does as a chef, it’s not what many 22-year-olds are doing … I’m very impressed.”

Daisy regrets not having a better working relationship with her stews

Once the guests say goodbye, Daisy reminisces about the season a bit. “The whole season for me was such a battle,” she says. “I wish my relationship with the girls had been like what I’ve had with many other stews. I’ve struggled to manage their attitude and the toxic environment they created.”

Daisy just got stuck with a couple of whiny, immature girls this season. I don’t think we’ll see them again.

Gary also thanks his crew for a great season. He especially appreciates Chase coming in for the last two weeks and helping them end on a high note.

“Maybe he’s just telling me what I want to hear,” Chase says in a confessional. “But I’ll take it. Gary is so fun to have fun with. But to live with him and work with him is difficult.”

At the tip meeting, Glenn thanks everyone for their hard work. There were a few rough spots, but overall they finished the season on a high. He especially points out how much he thinks Cloyce grew from the beginning of the season.

The tip is $21,000, which breaks down to €2,000 each. Not bad. Season total is $188,000. Bring on the champagne!

Diana and Danni claim they “trauma-bonded” working for Daisy

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 16

At the last crew night out, everyone is friendly again. Chase and Danni are right back where they were 24 hours before: flirty friends. Keith tells Daisy he thinks she’s a great girl, and she tells him he’s welcome to visit in London anytime.

On the way back to the boat, Daisy relates to Keith how miserable it was working with Danni and Diana and all their toxicity. Meanwhile in the other taxi, Danni says she and Diana “bonded over the trauma of working with Daisy.”

Sadly, Danni and Diana kind of poisoned each other’s opinion of Daisy. Daisy was just trying to do her job and train them to do theirs, but they never really accepted or respected her as their boss. I can’t see them ever being hired again after the way they’ve behaved.

“Daisy has that problem admitting that she’s in the wrong,” Diana says. “I just don’t respect her. Period.”

“I don’t want to choose sides,” Gary tells them, “but the majority of all this sh*t is f*cking petty. I’m sorry. I don’t want to talk about Daisy.”

Gary drunkenly proclaims his feelings for Daisy

At the next stop, Keith and Daisy exchange a few kisses, which bothers Gary. “It’s not easy seeing someone that you care about hooking up with someone else,” he interviews.

When Gary finally gets her alone, he tells her, “Boy that taxi ride was tough.”

“What, the girls don’t like me?” she asks him. “Boo-f*cking-hoo.”

“I advocated for your side,” he adds. “And I got laid into. Hard.”

“Thank you,” Daisy says.

“I came into this season thinking, ‘I can reconcile my differences with Daisy,’” he continues. “I wanted us to live a fairy tale life. We’ve had our ups and downs, but then we get together and live happily ever after. I have serious feelings for you.”

But Daisy just shakes her head and grimaces. “What do you want me to say, Gary?” she asks.

“You know what I want you to say,” he slurs drunkenly. “I liked you from day one because I like the person you are.”

Here we go again,” Daisy says in frustration. “You can’t come at me saying that you have serious feelings … You say this sh*t, but you never act on it; you act so impulsively.”

“All right, fine,” he says, and he goes in for a kiss, but ends up bumping his teeth on the side of her face. Ugh. Zero points for romance, Gary. Now Daisy’s just annoyed with you.

They both agree to just “forget about it,” and head back to the boat.

Back on the boat, Gary’s ready to party, but everyone’s gone to bed. Daisy and Keith have a quick makeout sesh in the hallway, before calling it a night.

Chase and Danni have one last night together in the master, where he finally admits that he really likes her.

So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, adieu

The next morning, nothing remains but the goodbyes. Glenn tells Gary, that despite “the lollipop fiasco and the drag night drinking,” he thinks Gary should think about stepping up to be a captain.

Gary’s got to grow up and get the drinking under control before he can seriously think about that. Glenn may think Gary’s got the makings of a leader, but the rest of us suspect we’ve seen the last of Gary King.

“I would like to be a captain one day,” Gary admits. “This season has been a great learning curve … This is no way to act if I’m going to be a respected captain. I think it boils down to me and alcohol and having respect towards myself … I need to take more responsibility for my actions, … learn from this and move forward.”

Meanwhile, Keith is telling Daisy that she was a “lifeline” for him this season. She admits it was a tough season.

“I think when you’re younger and having fun, you’ll put up with anything,” Daisy interviews. “But now I think I’m mature enough to realize I deserve better [than Gary]. I don’t know what will happen in the future. Maybe Keith and I will get married and have a baby … I’m joking!”

Just to prove her point, Gary comes into the cabin and tells Keith to “pull my finger.” Ugh. He’s such a child.

The bosun of the Parsifal III was once a fan favorite. But after a string of allegations, bad behavior when drinking, and a disinvite from BravoCon, Gary King will most certainly not be asked back after Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht concludes. But this begs the question of who should fill his shoes when he finally walks the plank.

Aleks Taldykin

Who could forget the first-ever bosun who starred in Below Deck Season 1? Aleks Taldykin was actually a great crew member. His Bravo bio shared that “he has had a love of the water since a young age.” Aleks was a Los Angeles native who got his first Captain’s license at 19. “At 20, he started his own company, Elite Yacht Management. His client list includes various celebrities and even heads of state,” added Bravo.  As a “Captain to the Stars,” Aleks always prided himself on giving his clients the best service possible.

Viewers watched as Aleks came across as quite personable. And he had a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, he left the series due to being overqualified for the job. While it could be argued he was more of a captain, I think Aleks would work well alongside Glenn Shepard

Storm Smith

Born and raised in South Africa, Storm Smith was an extremely hard worker. He showed his love of the job after having to step up after a previous bosun departed the yacht. To be honest, Storm was arguably one of the best bosun out of all the franchises. He was calm and easy to approach, which made him an outstanding leader. During his time as bosun, Storm went above and beyond to make sure the guests always left with smiles on their faces after having an adventure of a lifetime. With a love for the outdoors, Storm made his passion boats and often considered himself a “modern-day pirate.”

Perhaps one of the best things about Storm was that he was a student of the world. Before yachting, he had tried his hands at culinary school, being a surfing guide, and film school. This showed that he was ready for any challenge but was also comfortable switching things up if needed.

Kelley Johnson

I’ll admit it. Kelley Johnson wasn’t the nicest bosun, but he was easy to look at. Below Deck, viewers got to know him in Seasons 2 and 4. And while he might have had a heart of gold, he was one challenging coworker. However, he was a great addition to the boat as he fulfilled his chores and handled his team well. Even though Kelley may have jumped ships, taking on his new passion for nature photography, I think there is still a spot for him at the helm. He is now a Captain which means he knows his way around a boat. Even though the chances are slim that he would take a pay cut, it would be nice to see him back on the series since he was a fan favorite.

João Franco

Okay, even though João Franco didn’t exactly hit it off with his chief stew, I think he deserves another chance as a bosun. The South African took a few years off to figure out life and came back stronger than ever when he teamed up with Aesha Scott. There is no doubt that the former bosun was always a hard worker. Now that he has had an attitude check I think he is more than ready for the responsibility Glenn would throw at him. He is also very good at keeping work and life separated, so fingers crossed he won’t be hooking up with every single crew girl.

Malia White

I know some fans just can’t stand Malia White, but I think she is perfect for the bosun position. She has worked her way up to the role with pure grit and determination. Malia knows how to work and to do it well. The Floridian showed fans that she can easily take charge of an all-male crew without a hitch. Not only does she know how to get her hands dirty, but she is also passionate about working her way up in the yachting industry.

In this week’s episode, Captain Glenn relents on his threat to take the rule-breakers’ tip money and only charges them a fine. Chase argues with Gary about everything, and Glenn has to step in. Meanwhile, Danni and Chase hit a rough patch in their relationship. Here are some of the highlights from BDSY Season 5, Episode 15.

Glenn revises his punishment for the crew breaking his two-drink rule

Picking up where we left off last week, Gary’s still arguing with Glenn about whether they deserve a penalty for exceeding the two-drink rule.

“You were not forced to drink, Gary,” Glenn responds. “You knew the rules, you broke the f*cking rules, and now you’re here getting upset.”

“I don’t feel good taking 100%,” Glenn finally concedes. “But you knew what the rules were, [and you] went ahead and did it anyway.”

“So, you want us to pay a fine?” Gary asks. Gary, he warned you ahead of time, and you didn’t think you had to follow the rules. Do you think you’re special?

In the end, rather than taking their whole tip, Glenn settles on a fine of €500 each. Everyone agrees, and that’s the end of it.

While Keith apologizes to the captain and admits they let him down, Gary’s still angry. “I don’t even want to look at Glenn, bro,” he whines. You’ve got no one to blame but yourself, Gary.

All told, Keith, Gary and Daisy still got $2,055 dollars apiece. Still a good tip.

Daisy offers to cover Keith’s €500, but he’s willing to take his punishment like a man. He knows he f*cked up, unlike Gary, who’s still pouting. He should be thankful he still has a job, in light of his sexual misconduct allegations.

Chase questions everything Gary asks him to do

Some of the letters on the back of the boat are peeling off, so Gary wants Chase to get into a bosun’s chair, run a rope off the halyard and dangle off the back of the boat to make the repairs.

Rather than just doing as he’s told for once, Chase has to make an argument out of it. He wants to just tie a rope to the guardrail and dangle himself that way. Why does he have to argue about everything?

But when Gary tells Glenn what Chase wants to do, Glenn says, “Let’s go talk to him.” If Chase doesn’t do it the right way and gets injured, the captain could be liable.

“Chase, stop,” Glenn says, when he finds Chase tying a rope to the guardrail. “Gary says put it on a halyard, that’s the end of the story. Put it on a halyard.”

“Copy that,” Chase answers.

But in a confessional, Chase has to whine some more. “Give me some f*cking credit,” he says. “I do my job, [and] I do it fast. I could do Gary’s job blindfolded.”

But then Chase gets upset that Gary went to Glenn. “Gary, say it to me,” he says. “When have you told me to do something, and I f*cking don’t do it?” Every day, dude. You argue about everything.

Chase accuses Gary of throwing him under the bus because he’s “in trouble today.”

Finally, Gary stops even trying to reason with Chase. “Whatever, man,” he says in frustration, walking away. “When you do it again, I’ll just say, ‘You’re doing it, man.’”

Chase is still complaining as he climbs over the side. “F*ck me,” he whines. “What a f*cking pussy.” Nice way to talk about your boss on camera.

Gary realizes he was wrong and goes sober … again

On the crew night out, Gary finally realizes he’s been “an absolute idiot.”

“Tonight I’m gonna take it easy,” he interviews, “because last night I got a bit carried away. When fun gets in the way, I don’t tend to think of the consequences.” Grow up, Gary. Didn’t we already agree that alcohol is not your friend?

It’s the last crew night out before the final charter of the season. Daisy proposes a toast, “Cheers, guys … I couldn’t have done this without you. So, I appreciate it.”

Back on the boat, Keith walks Daisy back to her cabin. He wants a goodnight kiss. But when they get there, they find Gary lying on Daisy’s bunk.

“Daisy and Gary’s relationship is incredibly complex,” Keith interviews. “I think sometimes you need someone new to really, like, wipe that clean … You go, ‘Gosh, … that sucked!’”

The next morning, Gary realizes he owes Glenn an apology. “Sorry for being such a d*ck yesterday,” he says. “I shouldn’t have reacted like I did. I was just frustrated with everything that was going on, and it wasn’t you.”

“If Gary wants to be a captain one day,” Glenn says in his own confessional, “he needs to leave this childish behavior behind him. At this point in his life, he’s gotta grow up.” Didn’t I just say that, Glenn? They hug it out, and all is well again.

Chase rethinks his relationship with Danni due to a lack of trust

Following the crew night out, Danni and Chase went to the master cabin. Danni admitted that she did have sex there with Anthony a couple of weeks before, even though she previously said “nothing happened.”

Chase doesn’t like that she lied to him.

“We’ve known each other two weeks, and we’re about to go to opposite sides of the world,” he tells her the next day. “It seems to me like we’re cool friends.”

Danni feels like he’s just trying to “get rid of” her. She follows him upstairs and asks, “Chase, can we please chat now? On the bow?”

“I’m in the middle of a charter,” he explains. “I literally can’t.” He’s working, honey. Not a good time.

Apparently, Daisy mentioned that last year Chase was involved with Chef Ileisha, and they saw each other after the season ended.

“What made me not worth it in that situation, too?” Danni asks.

“You know what?” Chase asks in frustration. “We dated for a month. But guess what? It all went to sh*t because it was long distance.”

In reality, he’s turned off by the fact that Danni lied to him.

In the meantime, Daisy’s wondering where her other stew is. Diana is setting the table for dinner, while Danni and Chase are arguing.

Daisy sticks her head out the door and yells, “Danni, can you please come and set up dinner? Thank you.”

“Absolute f*cking bullsh*t,” Chase mutters, as Danni walks away to do her actual job.

We’re back with the recap for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 14. Last time, despite being less than happy with the service, the departing charter guests left a pretty decent tip for a single-night stay. Daisy laid down the law for a “manipulative” Danni, before finally playing a little kissy-face with Keith. The new charter guests were an awesome group of drag queens, but sadly, Cloyce’s kitchen mishaps left them unimpressed. Here’s exactly what went down on BDSY Season 5, Episode 14: “Rules of En-rage-ment.”

What happened in Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 14?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 14

In this week’s episode, Chase and Gary’s resentment toward each other continues, while Daisy realizes that Gary is not what she wants for her future. After a drag night dinner, Daisy and the deck crew accompany the guests ashore to a club. But after Daisy, Keith and Gary break Captain Glenn’s two-drink rule, Gary loses his temper and snaps at Glenn. Here are some of the highlights from BDSY Season 5, Episode 14.

Gary and Chase bicker like a married couple

When last we saw our charter guests, they were still waiting for the next course of their dinner. Cloyce is attempting to smoke some filets in the galley, but the smoker is malfunctioning. It’s been 15 minutes since the last course was presented.

Finally, Cloyce presents pan-seared filet with a peach and hickory smoke. “Oh, it was worth the wait,” Lola LeCroix admits. “It’s delicious.”

Chase is on anchor watch. It’s nice to see someone on the overnight who actually works. He spends the whole night cleaning, rather than sleeping and making excuses in the morning.

While tying the tender to the side of the boat, Gary tells Chase repeatedly to “put a cable tie on that shackle, so we don’t lose it.”

“Gary has the leadership skills of a f*cking helicopter parent,” Chase complains in a confessional. But then, what does he do? He drops the shackle and it sinks to the bottom of the deep, blue sea.

“You’re a f*cking idiot,” Gary yells in frustration, as Chase apologizes profusely.

“This guy just doesn’t listen,” Gary interviews. “If we don’t have the shackle on the tender, we can’t tow the tender. And that means that dickhead is going to have to drive the tender to the dock, which is going to be sh*tty.”

Don’t they keep a spare somewhere for mishaps just like this?

“Yeah, I dropped a shackle in the water,” Chase interviews. “I make mistakes. I’m human. He’s trying to make me feel bad, even though he knows I didn’t mean to do it. Gary just loves tearing me down.”

Fortunately, Gary finds a spare down in the storage locker. “Yeah, baby!” he yells.

Diana and Danni complain about not going to the club

Gary’s trying to give Daisy a backrub while she’s working. “I’ve never seen Keith give you a back massage,” he laughs. That’s because Keith is a professional and doesn’t flirt with the girls while he’s working.

“Gary, you actually have to, like, rein it in,” Daisy tells him. “This is what got us in trouble before.”

“I’m learning as I get older,” Daisy says in a confessional. “I think I’m better at knowing what I want in a partner … There’s Gary, who’s like a f*cking yo-yo. I pick up on that [energy], and then I become hysterical and reactive … And then you’ve got Keith, who’s just so level-headed and safe and secure.”

“It’s really nice to have that energy that’s stable,” she adds. “I think that’s really good for me. I’m 36. I’m learning so much about myself.”

Daisy tells the girls they’re not going to the club with the guests tonight. She doesn’t want to deal with their whining about who gets to go and who has to stay, so she tells them she wants them each to get nine hours’ rest for once. “That way, you two will be well rested,” she says.

Diana takes it in stride, saying, “It’s up to you.”

But Danni takes the low road. “Somebody get my f*cking pumpkin,” she complains in a confessional. “Because I am Cinderella, and Daisy is my evil stepmother, this bitch will prevent me from going to the ball.”

Oh, but then Diana adds in her own confessional, “She’s doing it on purpose because she’s mad at Danni, and now it’s affecting me. It’s not fair.” Suck it up, buttercup. You’re not on a pleasure cruise; you’re working.

Gary, Daisy and Keith break Captain Glenn’s mandate

Tonight the guests are requesting the male portion of the crew do a drag show for dinner. Gary’s up for that, since he’s done it before.

“Without further ado,” Daisy announces, as the guys come out. They all look lovely in sparkles and colored wigs. Even Glenn gets into the act, sashaying in his blacks, wearing a green wig. “A” for effort, Glenn.

“Does the carpet match the drapes?” a guest wants to know.

Going ashore with the guests are Daisy, Gary, Chase and Keith. Glenn sets out the rules: “Two drinks [maximum, and] you guys are back on the boat at two o’clock.” Tomorrow’s a school day.

“Anybody forfeiting the rules tonight will be forfeiting their share of the tip,” the captain adds.

“My job as a chief stew is to make sure the guests get what they want,” Daisy interviews. “They think this is fun and games, but this isn’t fun for me. I want to be in bed.”

Back on the boat, the two long-suffering junior stews complain about their boss. “I think Daisy’s used to stews that just shut up and take it,” Danni says in a confessional. “But Diana and I aren’t those two girls.”

At the bar, despite Glenn’s two-drink mandate, Daisy’s had three drinks and Gary’s had four.

When Chase tries to remind Gary, “Let’s not f*cking drink too much,” Gary snaps, “Chase, shut up … I’m going to get sh*tfaced. Two drinks for me is like nothing.”

Eventually, Keith has four drinks, while Chase sticks at one. He has to work overnight, so he can’t get drunk. In the meantime, Gary’s had 10 drinks and Daisy’s had four. Well, two, and two shots. Glenn is not going to be happy.

Captain Glenn’s “disappointed” in Gary

At promptly 2:00 am, the crew and the guests roll up to the boat and find Dad waiting for them. While the guests want more drinks, Glenn realizes Gary’s drunk and sends him off to bed. No tip for you, Gary.

Even though he heads down toward his cabin, Gary decides to sneak back up the hatch onto the deck for a smoke. He’s giggling and harassing Chase, who’s just doing his job and hosing down the deck. I think Chase should just turn around and spray Gary with the hose. That would sober him up.

“Go to sleep you f*cking idiot,” Chase says in a confessional.

Gary’s sitting on the deck still in drag when Glenn comes up and tells him sternly, “[Chase] is working. Finish your cigarette and go to bed.”

“I’ve worked with Gary a long time,” Glenn says in a confessional. “For him to disappoint me in this way, doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand it … Gary knows better than this.” Seriously? Has he met Gary?

Finally, the guests go to bed at 3:15. Poor Daisy must be exhausted.

When at last Gary and Daisy return to their cabin, she tells him, “You need to go to bed … You are a little bit drunk.” A little bit? He’s a lotta bit drunk.

But Gary’s still insisting he’s sober. “I want to believe that Gary wants to change,” Daisy says in a confessional. “Then he spirals again. He’s just so self-destructive. It’s incredibly painful to watch. And to be honest, Gary’s just not what I want for my future. He’s just not growing up.”

Glenn has a come to Jesus meeting with his crew

Daisy and Gary know they’re in trouble, cause Glenn’s not speaking to them.

After the guests depart, Glenn radios for Daisy, Gary, Chase and Keith to meet him in the master cabin. Uh oh. Here it comes.

“So last night you guys went out with the guests,” Glenn starts. “I set some ground rules, but I could tell that you had more than two drinks.”

When Glenn asks Gary how many drinks he had, he admits to five (it was TEN). What happened to going sober?

Keith says “four or five,” while Daisy had two drinks and two shots. Boy Scout Chase had one beer.

“I don’t want to take you guys’ tip. But if I set a rule and … I don’t follow up, it’s a f*cking free for all, isn’t it?” Glenn asks.

“You’re right,” Daisy says. “I broke the rules and I apologize.”

“In all honesty, I was not f*cked up last night,” Gary says angrily. “You can take 100% [of his tip] from me, Glenn. You clearly need the cash.”

But Glenn doesn’t like Gary’s attitude, and neither do I. Gary can’t talk to his boss like that and expect to keep his job. But then, it’s Glenn we’re talking about here. He’s kind of blind to Gary’s bad behavior.

“You were not forced to drink, Gary,” Glenn responds. “You knew the rules, [and] you broke the f*cking rules.” This next episode is going to be wild…

We’re back with the recap for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 13. Last time, Gary and Daisy went for a drink to celebrate Gary’s sober crew night out (yeah, I didn’t get that either). The guests on this charter were very difficult, to say the least. They didn’t like sailing, they didn’t like the food, they weren’t happy with the drinks or anything else. At the end of the cruise, they pulled Captain Glenn aside to complain about their experience on Parsifal III. Here’s exactly what went down on BDSY Season 5, Episode 13: “Mid-Strife Crisis.”

What happened in Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 13?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 13

In this week’s episode, despite being less than happy with the service, the departing charter guests leave a pretty decent tip for a single-night stay. Daisy lays down the law for a “manipulative” Danni, and Daisy finally plays a little kissy-face with Keith. The new charter guests are an awesome group of drag queens, but sadly, Cloyce’s kitchen mishaps leave them unimpressed. Here are some of the highlights from BDSY Season 5, Episode 13.

Glenn takes some heat from the departing guests

Glenn finds the departing guests waiting for him in the lounge. He asks, “Is there anything you guys want to talk to me about?”

The guests didn’t feel the service was what they were expecting aboard a superyacht. They thought the exterior crew did an outstanding job. But when it came to the interior crew’s service, it was a different story.

“When you come to this level of luxury,” the co-primary says, “you do want what you paid for. I feel like the guys kind of went over and beyond to help us have a good time. The girls were all really friendly, but … they weren’t as attentive.”

They also felt the ladies had been friendly to their faces. “But as soon as they turned around,” she says, “they were rolling their eyes [and] frustrated.”

Glenn apologizes, “because that should never happen … We’re gonna chat and find ways to make sure that that never happens again.”

The ladies offer a final word, as they say goodbye. “The main thing was I feel like the guys did such a great job of trying to make us happy,” Jillian says. Oh, boy. Poor Daisy. At least they left Glenn with an envelope. I was afraid they wouldn’t leave any tip at all.

Glenn confronts Daisy over the accusations of poor service

After the guests are gone, Glenn sits down with Daisy. He says the primaries didn’t think “the service was up to the level that you would expect on a super yacht.”

“There was just such a bad vibe,” Daisy responds. “I tried to start conversations, but the looks I was getting … It got to the point where I felt like, ‘I don’t wanna be around them.’”

But Glenn points out that Daisy is the leader of her department, and he wants to solve the issue. “What can we do different?” he asks.

Daisy’s still stinging from Danni saying that her boss snaps at her and doesn’t give enough direction. She blames Daisy for causing her to “lose [her] passion” for yachting.

“It’s not just you,” she tells Glenn. “F*ck me, this f*cking day.” I understand Daisy’s frustration. But Daisy’s also known to get stressed out and be hard on herself.

Glenn tells her to take a minute and come back. Daisy steps off the boat and goes for some air. And a good cry to let off some steam.

When Daisy returns, she apologizes to Glenn for “walking off.” But Glenn isn’t angry. He just wants her to realize that she “can do better.” They hug it out and are both ready to go back to work.

Surprisingly, the guests left a pretty decent tip for a one-night charter: $15,000. That’ll go a long way to heal Daisy’s hurt feelings. Even she admits it was a very “generous” tip.

Keith finally makes his move with Daisy

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 13

Getting ready for their crew night out, Daisy and Keith share a bonding moment over Danni. Daisy tells him she “assassinated my character.” He laughs that she did the same thing to him, when she wanted to be flirty and he wanted to stay professional in front of the guests.

“I’m not gonna let it ruin my night,” Daisy concludes.

Finally after dinner, Keith makes his move and admits he’s into Daisy. I think he’s a good match for her. He’s more mature than most of the other guys she’s dated.

Daisy confesses she feels “the same way and really enjoys [his] company.” Keith moves in for a kiss, and Daisy’s into it.

Back on the boat, Danni and Chase retire to the master suite, while Daisy takes Keith upstairs to talk. She explains that she and Gary have a “complicated relationship.” But Keith’s not at all discouraged.

“Coming off the breakup with Colin,” Daisy interviews, “I’ve learned a lot. I think [Keith] deserves honesty from me.”

For his part, Gary’s feeling some kind of way about the situation. “Daisy’s made it pretty clear … that she doesn’t want anything with me,” he interviews. “She not my girlfriend, [but] I love her to bits.”

Back in their cabin, Daisy congratulates Gary for behaving himself on their night out and asks if he’s okay with her and Keith kissing. He tersely answers that he is, but we all know he’s not.

Keith and Daisy are the hot topic of conversation next morning. Keith tells Chase that Gary says he’s okay with him and Daisy. But Chase warns him that Gary “doesn’t always say what he means.”

Keith really like Daisy and feels like “there’s something here,” but he doesn’t want to “piss off” his boss.

Danni seems contrite, but she’s just pulling a snow job

At the preference sheet meeting, Glenn announces that the next group will include Detox, a “drag superstar” (and RuPaul’s Drag Race legend) from Chicago. She is bringing her sister Heather, along with another drag queen, Lola LeCroix, and three other friends, including adult film director Marc.

Daisy sits down with Danni for a follow-up to their talk of the day before. Daisy assures her that she thinks Danni’s a “great stew … and a great asset to the team.”

“That said, it’s not my job to create passion in you,” she concludes. Daisy urges her to stop blaming her boss for being unhappy. She believes Danni’s being manipulative and difficult, and she’s “really not okay with it.”

Daisy says she’s allowed her “extra liberties,” like allowing her to go into the guest cabins for her romantic liaisons. She wants Danni to “reflect on her position.”

Surprisingly, Danni apologizes, and Daisy graciously accepts it. “Hopefully, we can go forward and finish the season strong,” she concludes.

But in a confessional, Danni says, “I think Daisy hates me because I’m a threat to her position.” Get a grip, girl. There are only two charters left. Don’t get yourself fired before the end of the season.

Fresh fruit should not be onion or garlic-flavored

When the guests arrive, they are funny and charming. What a refreshing change from the last guests who just weren’t happy with anything.

After meeting them, Davide confesses to Keith and Gary that he actually won a drag contest when he was 17 or 18. “I was hot,” he brags.

It’s a very windy day, so the first item on the agenda is to get the sails up and go sailing. When Glenn explains how the different sails work and that there’s “a lot of friction there,” the guests all laugh.

Detox’s sister Heather chides him, “Know your audience, Glenn.”

When the sails are fully up and the engines turned off, the boat keels and Detox yells, “Vacation mode activated!” They love it!

They’re very happy guests, until Daisy brings up a plate of fresh fruit. When they taste the fruit, it seems to have been cut on the same board as garlic or onions and tastes like it. Cloyce! Wash your cutting board, dude.

Cloyce realizes he did cut up an onion on the same cutting board as the fruit. “After last night, I don’t feel like I’m in the right headspace,” he admits. “Stupid, stupid, stupid.” He may have more cooking experience than you’d expect for his age, but even I know better than to do that.

Danni returns with a new plate of fruit “cut with a new board and a new knife,” so she’s “hoping for the best.” Fortunately, it’s delicious and doesn’t taste of onion or garlic.

Chef Cloyce is losing his concentration in the galley

At dinner, the guests aren’t impressed with the first course of croquettes, which one of them describes as “a cheese stick in ball form.”

When Cloyce presents the arugula salad with goat’s cheese, Marc comments, “Bless his heart! Hope he got his parents’ permission to be out this late.”

Luckily, they all like the salad. “Good job, teenager,” Heather says.

When Detox complains about the next course being slow (it’s been all of seven minutes), Marc quips, “He might be grounded.” That drag queen shade can be cutting!

As the clock keeps ticking on the time between courses (it’s now 13 minutes since the last course), Cloyce is having a problem with the smoker in the galley.

The guests are getting restless. “He’s a child,” Marc says. “I want to be nice.” But they also want to know when the food is coming.

“Cloyce has been consistent in his inconsistencies,” Glenn says. “And at this point in the season, I need someone I can depend on.”

We’re back with the recap for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 12. Last time, the crew performed a skit depicting Ronnie’s jellyfish attack in a humorous light, and the ladies LOVED it. The guests went clubbing on their last night in Ibiza, and they were welcomed back with an early morning pizza breakfast. And deciding that alcohol is not his friend, Gary had a shockingly sober crew night out. Here’s exactly what went down on BDSY Season 5, Episode 12: “Fraught Mess.”

What happened in Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 12?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, Episode 12

In this week’s episode, Gary and Daisy go for a little drink to celebrate Gary’s sober crew night out (yeah, I didn’t get that either). The guests on this charter are very difficult, to say the least. They don’t like sailing, they don’t like the food, they aren’t happy with the drinks or anything else. At the end of the cruise, they pull Captain Glenn aside to download their overnight experience. Here are some of the highlights from BDSY Season 5, Episode 12.

Gary wants to be more than friends with Daisy

The morning following Gary’s sober night out, he wakes up and tells Daisy, “You know what we should do to celebrate? We should go for a drink, you and I, off the boat.” Oh, yeah. That’s a great idea, Gary. Let’s celebrate your sobriety by going for a drink.

When they go out together, Gary has a glass of wine. He also wants to know if Daisy ever sees them being together. Gary has a serious crush on Daisy, but I don’t think she’s interested. She says she’s “having too much fun.”

“You just like the idea of me,” Daisy tells him. “You need to be honest with yourself.” She thinks Gary needs to do a lot of work on himself before he gets into a relationship or it won’t be healthy.

“To be in a secure relationship, you need to be with a secure person,” Daisy adds. “We’re not secure people.”

Gary wants someone who’ll “fix his problems.” Daisy hasn’t forgotten how he didn’t respect her relationship with Colin last year, and it made her “take a step back.”

“Unless Gary did some serious growing up very fast,” she concludes, “us having a future? Just no f*cking way.” I hope she sticks to her guns.

Why charter a sailboat if you don’t like to sail?

When the guests arrive, they settle into their cabins, but guest Sharie has a lot to complain about: the boat’s not big enough, the drinks aren’t strong enough, etc. She doesn’t seem like she’s really enjoying herself.

The ladies think they should have a button to push when they want Daisy for something. (OMG, I’m having flashbacks of Jill Zarin going, “Ding dong! Ding dong!”)

But when the sails go up and the boat keels, the women aren’t happy that “the boat’s leaning.”

One of the ladies says, “I’m gonna throw up.” Did they not know this was a sailing yacht, and that’s what sailboats do? I’m not a fan of sailing either, but if I was paying for it, I wouldn’t complain so much.

“Is this normal?” Sharie says. “This is not what I expected. I’m about to throw up.” Chase scrambles to find a bucket for her.

When Captain Glenn asks if she’s uncomfortable and wants to stop sailing, she says yes.

“This is the first time I’ve ever been asked to stop sailing,” Glenn interviews. “I hope to God it’s the last.”

These guests paid too much money to be unhappy

But it doesn’t stop with the hate of sailing. When Gary shows the ladies how to use the Seabobs, one of them comments, “Like, you’re literally about to act like a fish in the water with a motor. So you can float right into a shark’s mouth?!

Guest Treasa seems to enjoy herself, but her friend Tonya doesn’t like it at all and quickly returns to the boat. “I just didn’t know what the hell I was doing,” she says. “But I think it’s supposed to be fun.”

“I have no idea if these guests are having a good time,” Gary interviews. “I don’t like that one bit.”

Treasa’s having the time of her life, but Sharie is not so happy. When someone asks if she’s scared, she responds, “I’m not scared. I just think I’m done.”

When she climbs back onto the boat, she cries, “Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord. I made it!”

The mixology class Daisy had planned doesn’t go over so well either. She’d planned to teach them how to make three different drinks: a mojito, a mango martini, and one other that they didn’t get to, because the guests lost interest. Sharie’s not happy with anything, though her husband Marcelle is enjoying the different drinks.

“This feels super f*cking weird,” Daisy says in a confessional. “It is pulsating how uncomfortable everybody feels.”

One of the ladies ask the group, “Would you guys do something like this again?” And her friend says no. Very sad. They’re paying a lot of money for this trip.

When Cloyce asks Chase how it’s going, he says, “I get weird vibes from the guests. Like, I can’t tell if they’re having fun.”

Something tells me Captain Glenn has a new winner for worst charter guests ever.

Chef Cloyce goes all out with the seven-course meal

Chef Cloyce may be young, but he has more experience in the kitchen than his age reveals.

“You can pack a lot of good stuff into a seven-course menu,” Chef interview. “Keep your forks ready, motherf*ckers.”

Daisy serves the first cocktail, an Aperol spritz, with the salad. “It’s an acquired taste,” Lakesha comments.

The second course is Oysters Rockefeller, which Cloyce calls “Cloycesters Rockefeller,” accompanied by a peach Bellini. Unfortunately, Daisy knocks over a glass as she’s serving them. “One of the worst moments of my life,” she interviews. “Thank God, this is just a one-night charter.”

Sharie says she doesn’t eat oysters, so Cloyce offers to make her something else. But when he returns to the galley and checks the preference sheet, she has oysters listed.

“Bro, you’re f*cking literally joking,” Cloyce complains. That’s crazy.

Back at the table, Sharie holds up her Aperol spritz and says, “I have to be honest. This right here tastes like cough syrup.” She’s just determined to be unhappy.

“These drinks are strong,” another of the guests comments. “How are we going to have seven drinks?” Somebody didn’t think that through when you put it on your preference sheet.

Everyone’s starting to get full. “I don’t think I’ve eaten this much in a day,” one of them says. “We are full.” They’re also are slowing down on the drinks.

“I know the cocktails aren’t small,” Daisy says. “Don’t feel like you have to drink them.”

This dinner is a disaster. In the galley, the crew starts talking about the guests being odd and rude, but Glenn cautions them to be careful. They wouldn’t want to be overheard.

“Worst service ever!” Daisy says when the meal finally ends. That was excruciating.

The most awkward charter ever comes to an end

The next morning, Daisy finds a plastic bag outside the door of one of the guests cabins. “What the f*ck is that?” she mutters.

“There’s a bag in the guest corridor,” she radios Chase. “I’m worried it’s vomit.” Luckily, he volunteers to open it for her.

He opens the bag and takes a sniff, “Yep. It’s vomit.” Daisy and I both simultaneously gag.

The next scene is of Cloyce putting something in the oven that unfortunately looks like a vomit pie. Not cool, BDSY producers. That was just gross.

Danni’s finally got the boatmance that she’s wanted from day one with Chase. When Daisy comes across Chase and Danni canoodling, she loses her sh*t. “Do neither of you have something to do?” she asks. “Can you go find something to do, please?” Daisy’s just not in the mood for Danni’s nonsense.

“Bitch, excuse me?” Danni mutters. “As if you’ve been f*cking doing anything, bro.”

Actually, she has. Daisy’s been running her ass off trying to make these guests happy.

As the guests are leaving, Glenn foolishly asks, “Everything okay? Is there anything you guys want to talk to me about?”

“When you come to this level of luxury,” Jillian responds, “you do want what you pay for. That was just a few hiccups.”

Out on the dock, the crew is waiting to say their goodbyes. “Are they discussing with Glenn that they’re not going to tip us?” Gary wants to know. I think that’s exactly what they’re doing. Sadly, we won’t find out until next week.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
