Ahead of the Summer House Season 10 premiere, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula announced their divorce after four years of marriage. Kyle and Amanda’s relationship was a major part of Summer House from Season 1. Alas, it was rocky more often than not. So, fans weren’t terribly surprised. But they were curious to see how Season 10 would play out with this knowledge.

Leading up to the season premiere, Kyle and Amanda insisted things were as cordial as possible. They did press together, and Kyle honored her in a toast at the premiere party. More details about the timeline of their split also came out, as Amanda revealed they already broke up before BravoCon. But even if Kyle and Amanda hadn’t announced their split, the season premiere made it clear the writing was on the wall. We’re sure to see more of the marriage breakdown in the upcoming spin-off. But there were so many signs of it in the premiere alone, we had to make a list.

How the Summer House Season 10 Premiere Foreshadowed Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s Split

Summer House viewers know Kyle and Amanda always had problems. She even referenced the fans’ opinions about their relationship on screen. But the vibes in the premiere episode alone were extra tense. Amanda chose to ride with Ciara Miller instead of Kyle. It seemed the brief time she spent with Kyle in the car to meet Ciara was more than enough.  

Somehow, they managed to make the first night meal even more awkward than newbie Bailey Taylor did when she burst into tears. It was like a millennial Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. In almost every scene, one made snarky comments about the other. Such as Kyle, after he saw Amanda holding chickens, cracking, “Amanda, I thought you forgot how to handle a cock.” Yikes! 

Amanda wasn’t the only person Kyle had tension with either. Carl Radke hinted at the distance in their friendship throughout the episode. And the premiere opened with a flashforward of a major fight between the former besties to come. But Kyle’s doomed relationship with Amanda definitely took center stage in the premiere. 

There was a lot to unpack. But here are a few of the most notable signs that Kyle and Amanda were headed for divorce not long after the season wrapped.

Kyle’s DJ career was the straw that broke the camel’s back in his marriage to Amanda 

When the new girls said it seems like people just become DJs to party, Amanda said that was exactly right in Kyle’s case. In a flashback, she lamented that Kyle chose this career just as she asked him to party less and be at home more. At dinner, Amanda outright said that Kyle became a DJ just to spite her because of her ambitions to start a bathing suit line.

Later in a conversation with Ciara, Amanda said another friend knew a DJ who didn’t drink and went home right after his set. But Kyle wouldn’t be willing to do that. It’s not just Amanda either. Carl also doesn’t see Kyle as much since this new career. He sees the DJ career as Kyle not really committing to Amanda. It made them live two different lives.

Kyle lost his wedding ring 

In just one of the many uncomfortable moments between them at the dinner table, Amanda shared that Kyle lost his wedding ring. In response, she refused to wear her ring either. And wouldn’t put hers back on until he got a new one. Shakespeare couldn’t write better symbolism that the marriage was over than that. Jesse Solomon joked that they could cosplay as single … but it was obvious they wouldn’t have to cosplay soon enough.

Amanda became numb to rumors about Kyle 

In one of her heart-to-hearts with Ciara, Amanda admitted just how checked out she really was in her marriage. She revealed that yet another rumor came out, but they squashed it in the media. Still, her reaction surprised her … because she was barely affected by it. Amanda recalled how upset these rumors used to make her. Summer House fans surely flashed back to seasons past. But now, she’s numb to it all. Amanda realized how bad that sounds, and she wasn’t happy that she grew so used to it. 

Later at West Wilson’s party, Amanda also admitted that the internet reactions to their marriage took a toll. There’s only so many times you can see comments telling you to get a divorce.

Kyle felt unappreciated by Amanda 

Kyle spent most of the premiere complaining about his wife. Specifically, how he felt ignored by her. He hoped to rekindle things at the house. But instead, she jumped in bed with the girls (Ciara and Jesse). Kyle said that they barely spent anytime together in the past few months. Once again, because of his DJ career. Since he’s touring, he was only in the city for one and a half weekends over the past six months. 

At the dinner table, he lamented that she doesn’t ask him questions about his career (because she’s upset about it, Kyle!) and doesn’t listen. A fed up Amanda misheard this as him saying she was jealous, which she mocked. Then she realized she proved his point about listening. 

At the party, Kyle told friends Amanda doesn’t make an effort. And he was “freaked out” that they were such opposites. Now more than ever, with Kyle as a DJ and Amanda as a bed bug.

Kyle flipped out when Amanda (sort of) skinny dipped 

As the party winded down, the cast jumped in the pool. Most of them in their clothes or underwear. Amanda joined in, and entered the pool in a bra and underwear. Despite comments that her boobs were out, she wasn’t naked. However, Kyle was convinced she jumped in naked. She had to tell and show him that she wasn’t. Even still, Kyle said she should’ve told him first. Amanda pointed out how ridiculous this was, as they all jumped in the pool at the same time. When would she have had the chance to give him a heads up anyway? Still, Kyle was upset.

And that’s how the premiere ended. It sure seems like it’s going to be a long summer for these two … and their housemates awkwardly caught in the middle.

A confused Kyle goes looking for his wife, and sees her cozied up in bed with Jesse and Ciara. He walks away, murmuring under his breath, “I’m so sick of this f*cking energy. F*cking bullsh*t.” When Jesse asks Amanda if she thinks Kyle is upset, she appears unfazed, continuing to scroll through her phone.

Amanda opened up about the end of her relationship with Kyle during a February 3 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. The Summer House star admitted it was difficult dealing with online opinions about her marriage.

“When you hear something so many times, you start to believe it or think more about it,” she said. “I’m not mad about it. I think it’s maybe something I needed to hear.”

In January 2026, before the show premiered, Kyle and Amanda announced their separation. They were married for four years, but were an item for a decade. The news didn’t exactly shock the Bravo-verse. Now, Carl is weighing in on his friends’ decision to part ways.

Summer House OG Carl Radke said “sometimes love isn’t enough”

According to Amanda, there was no “one final straw” that broke the proverbial camel’s back. And she doesn’t feel that a reconciliation at this time is likely. Meanwhile, Carl is being supportive of both sides.

“I think we all should pause and just give Amanda everything we can and support her. I’m obviously supporting Kyle,” Carl told DECIDER. “I love them dearly. It’s not easy putting it all out there like they have for the last 10 years.”

When asked if Kyle’s budding career as a DJ was the cause of the couple’s split, Carl didn’t deny it. “I think there are a lot of variables. I think that’s something that you can point to. But there’s a lot more than his music career,” Carl explained.

He continued, “They have different personalities and some things that maybe weren’t complimentary, I guess. I think they loved each other dearly.” Carl added, “But sometimes love isn’t enough.”

During the press events for Summer House, Carl was glad to see them in a good space. “It made me really happy to see them getting along and friendly, and everything was pretty good, honestly, all things considered,” he said. Meanwhile, Carl and Lindsay are working their way back to being friends after their messy breakup.

Amanda Batula is opening up about her split from Kyle Cooke after four years of marriage. The Summer House star appeared on Watch What Happens Live after the premiere of Season 10. As the couple are now no more, viewing the footage is now a case study into their prior relationship.

Amanda shares her thoughts on the current state of matters. She also reacted to the fan base celebrating her separation, and shared who she thinks will be first to date again.

Amanda confirmed to host Andy Cohen that she and Kyle have “been living seperately” “since October or November.” Specifically, “just before” BravoCon 2025.

She clarified that there was no “one final straw” that drove their “decision to separate.” There was also no prenup, which was already known. However, Amanda reveals how much she “regrets” it now. At stake is Kyle’s company Loverboy, where Amanda worked as Creative Director.

“I have to think that you feel that you deserve a part of Loverboy,” Andy said.

“Listen, that’s his baby. That’s his bread and butter. That man worked harder on that business than he did relationship. So I’m okay … not,” the Bravolebrity replied.

Andy reiterated, “you worked hard on that business too.”

Presumably divorce is inevitable, given the wording. As for what pushed Amanda to make the decision, she did admit “how hard it was to have the whole internet rooting for your divorce.”

“I mean, to an extent, when you hear something so many times, you start to believe it or think more about it. But I’m not mad about it. I think its something I needed to hear,” Amanda explained.

When Andy asked how the “relationship is now,” she replied, “Great.” Amanda continued, “We just had our premiere party. He gave me a very sentimental shout-out. He had a lot of people in tears. There’s a lot of love still there.”

Amanda is clearly ready to move on. Of the two, thinks she might be “the first to start dating” again. She gushed, “would that be crazy?”

Andy asked, “Is there a universe in which you two get back together?”

“I said it doesn’t matter what happens. It’s up to us. it could happen. It could not. Right now, probably not,” Amanda concluded.

Amanda and Kyle confirmed their breakup last month, after four years of marriage. In the Season 10 premiere episode, it was extremely clear that there were some issues happening. His DJ career became a point of contention, and Amanda admitted that it felt like the internet was “rooting” for their divorce.

At the Season 10 premiere party, where Kyle was DJ’ing, he read some messages from his phone to shout out his castmates as they entered their landmark season. He seemed to get choked up when he addressed his estranged wife.

“Thank you for joining me on this journey,” Kyle said as his voice cracked.

He continued, “Through all of the ups and downs, you stood by my side, and I’m forever grateful to have shared so many memories.”

With their marital troubles on full display, Kyle went on to say that Season 10 felt “more bitter than sweet.” Not to mention, we’ll also get to see more of their relationship drama on the upcoming Summer House spinoff, In The City. Still, he managed to keep it light at the premiere party. It sounds like maybe they don’t totally hate each other — at least not yet.

“I’m confident we will find happiness, whatever that looks like,” Kyle added. “And yes, I’ll still help with your taxes.”

Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 1, the premiere! Last season, Ciara was at odds with both West and Jesse (let’s put #toegate firmly behind us), and Amanda and Kyle had babies on the brain. Meanwhile, Lindsay surprised everyone with the announcement she was preggers. And Paige surprised everyone by saying goodbye to Craig and leaving the show. So, what drama does the crew have in store for us this time around? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 1: “Red, White, and Nude.”

What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 1?

The tenth season kicked off with a lot of newbies, and the OGs approved of their vibe. However, the main theme of the episode was the enormous tension between Kyle and Amanda. And this left their friends concerned. Still, some relationships were on the mend, like Ciara and West’s. Ciara was planning to live the motto: summer should be fun! And even though the Bed Bugs were down a member, they happily accepted Jesse into the fold.

We are back! Didn’t you all miss the oddly specific times on this show? We started on Thursday, July 3, 12:38pm, to be exact. And right out of the gate Amanda and Kyle were at odds, with Amanda wanting to ride up to the Hamptons with Ciara instead. Amanda quipped, “He’s so distraught I chose to drive out with different people.” 

They also picked up two newbies, Bailey, an influencer (not to be confused with last season’s Bailee), and her bestie, Levi, an event planner. They explained they met on Instagram, and it was love at first sight. Amanda then lamented about Kyle being a DJ. 

Cut to five weeks earlier. She told Ciara, “I wanted him to stop going out and partying, and he found a career where he goes out late and parties. And I’m like, ‘Should I be mad about this?’” 

Meanwhile, Kyle rode up with Carl and Jesse. Carl was hoping to room on the first floor to “get in the mix,” while Jesse was open to rooming again with West. What he wouldn’t do, however, was come in hot with another girl again. We shall see.

West drove up with newbie, KJ, who is a model and professional skateboarder. And he’s from West’s home state of Missouri. West described KJ as “very mild mannered, and then around three to four tequila sodas, he’ll throw his grill in, flip his hat backwards, and start to rage.”

Although KJ didn’t seem like he was going to rage anytime soon. He noted that he just survived getting his heart broken. West advised him not to date someone from the house. He was still clearly shaken from Ciara’s Traitors-style takedown of him last season. 

Jesse was an honorary Bed Bug

The time-honored tradition of a janky front door was no more. The ladies opened it with ease. Ciara cheered, “To the first weekend of the summer of y’all’s lives.”

West grabbed some liquid courage before wandering over to Ciara. However, Ciara had different plans this season. She said in her confessional, “My goal is for the summer is I’m not going to eat him alive. I’m working on being less rigid; I’m working on being less of a b*tch.”

Soon after, the rest of the guys showed up, but no one had grabbed the luggage the ladies left out in the driveway. Kyle said it was about to start raining, so they should bring it in. When Ciara looked at him to do it, Kyle scoffed. 

Ciara said in her confessional, “Kyle is my friend. But I don’t like when I hear things from Amanda about how she’s being treated, and then I have to sit there and smile and giggle in your face knowing these things, but I can’t get involved because it’s not my marriage.”

Everyone then ran around to pick their rooms. Carl got his wish for the first-floor bedroom and happily saged away. He was living his best life and finally felt like “a real human being.”

Ciara and Jesse then caught up in his room. The two shared it was weird without Paige around. Jesse said, “She’ll be hard to replace, but I’ll gossip with you and Amanda.” Ciara noted he could be part of the “Gossip Girls,” but he’d have to keep his mouth shut. 

Jesse was just happy to be included and that Ciara was planning to have positive vibes towards his bestie, West.

Bailey got dumped at the salad bar

The first meal of the season was some fancy pizza and salad. Carl cheered; they were all single, minus Kyle and Amanda. Amanda brought up that Kyle lost his wedding ring, so she wasn’t going to wear hers until he found it. Jesse joked, “It’s okay, you guys can cosplay as single.”

And speaking of troubled relationships, Levi shared she just got out of a toxic twelve-year one. Bailey chimed in that she was recently dumped at a Sweetgreen. Amanda gasped, “Not at Sweetgreen!” Bailey started crying as she told the story of how her boyfriend jetted off to LA. The worst part of it all was she had bought him the most expensive salad to boot. 

Bailey changed subjects to Kyle being a DJ. The tension continued when Amanda said Kyle chose that career just to “spite” her. As Kyle talked about the joys of DJing, Amanda whispered to Ciara, “I love how he’s spinning this. No pun intended.” 

It was now time to go and party, which meant Amanda and Ciara headed straight to bed. Jesse hopped in with them, and even West tried to join. Amanda asked why he was hanging with them instead of the new girls. West responded, “Because they are crying.”

Meanwhile, Kyle complained about Amanda in his room. He said, “Every summer Amanda just makes me feel like I don’t exist.” Kyle shared in his confessional he hoped to rekindle things with her this summer, but that didn’t seem to be a possibility. 

After everyone left, Amanda told Ciara about her issues with Kyle. She said, “He finishes his set, he hangs out with the owners, he goes out with fans.” She added she was numb to the cheating rumors. And that scared her. 

Carl was concerned about Kyle

The next day was the Fourth of July, and it was time for West’s county fair-themed party. But first, the last newbie arrived. Kyle and Amanda’s friend Ben wandered in. West screamed, “He’s so handsome!” Ben gave warm hugs all around. 

Amanda explained they met him at their friend’s wedding in Italy, and she was skinny dipping. Jesse said, “You’ve seen Amanda’s boobs? I’ve never even seen them.” Kyle was not amused.

Carl caught up with Ciara and shared in another place and time they would be a happy couple. He dished he really wanted to have a family and didn’t want it to happen when he was ninety. Ciara joked he wasn’t as old as Kyle, although Kyle did not act his age. 

Carl agreed and said he only got to spend time with Kyle if he went to one of his shows. He also expressed concern about Kyle’s relationship with Amanda. Why was he out DJing at a college on a Thursday night? 

He said in his confessional, “This kind of other life that he’s been leading the last twelve months, which is like DJing and hosting these parties, isn’t aligned with what should be going on in his life. Which is really committing to his wife, getting back to kind of a good foundation in his relationship, and planning for a future in that relationship.” 

The worrying was put on hold because it was time to set up for the party. There was going to be a pie-eating contest, kissing booth, and petting zoo. Amanda decided to chill with Ben and Ciara instead and informed Ciara that Ben was on the Australian version of The Bachelor. As they caught up, the vibes were definitely vibing between Ben and Amanda. 

Kyle was worried he couldn’t make Amanda happy

The Fourth of July party was in full swing. Ciara’s favorite part was the petting zoo, and she noted West must have done it for her. She told Jesse, “Intentional or not, it’s a great peace offering.”

Ciara then caught up with Amanda. They were missing Lindsay, so they FaceTimed her, and she was happily playing with her daughter. This led Ciara to ask Amanda if she still wanted kids. She did but said Kyle’s DJing made it so he was never home. 

Amanda said, “I’m like you’re putting yourself in compromising situations where people are assuming the worst. To be completely honest with you, I think something that’s really tough for me is when the whole internet is rooting for our divorce.”

Meanwhile, Carl checked in on Kyle and asked if he was happy. Kyle said he was happy “showing people a good time, pressing play.” When he asked if he thought Amanda was happy, Kyle responded, “I don’t know what’s going to make her happy. But I don’t know if I can do it. When I actually say it out loud, it becomes a little more real, and it scares me.”

After the serious discussions, Ciara started a pie fight by throwing one in West’s face. But Amanda started a fight of her own when she “skinny dipped” in the pool with see-through underwear on. Kyle was livid and told her she was “absurd.” It was going to be a long summer for those two.

When Kyle and Amanda announced their separation, they posted it was a mutual decision. And during the Season 10, Episode 1, it was obvious both Amanda and Kyle were having issues in their relationship. 

Their besties, Ciara Miller and Carl Radke, picked up on their tension and pulled them aside to check in on them during the Fourth of July party. Ciara sat with Amanda and wondered if she still wanted to have kids. 

Amanda did, but Kyle being gone all the time DJing was a point of contention. She said, “I’m like you’re putting yourself in compromising situations where people are assuming the worst. To be completely honest with you, I think something that’s really tough for me is when the whole internet is rooting for our divorce. ‘You should get a divorce, leave him, leave him.’” 

She added, “Like that’s all I hear all the time. And it’s like when someone tells you something so many times you start to believe it. I’m at a point right now where I don’t know is it my thoughts or the internet’s thoughts.”

Meanwhile, Carl checked in on Kyle. He felt Kyle and Amanda were drifting apart, and he wondered if Kyle was happy. Kyle said he was happy “showing people a good time, pressing play.” 

When asked if he thought Amanda was happy, Kyle said, “I don’t know what’s going to make her happy. But I don’t know if I can do it. When I actually say it out loud, it becomes a little more real, and it scares me.”

Just a few months after Paige DeSorbo announced her unexpected breakup with Craig Conover, another Summer House breakup has come. This time it’s between Amanda Batula and her husband Kyle Cooke. After almost four years of marriage, a statement released two weeks ago announced their split.

And in true Bravo form, the former couple were still together during the filming of Season 10. Now that the season is about to air, fans will soon get an up-close look into what ultimately caused the downfall of their relationship. And judging by this preview for the premiere episode, one of their faults is related to Kyle’s alleged unfaithfulness.

Kyle Cooke cheating rumors swirled while he was married to Amanda Batula

In a preview clip for the Season 10 premiere, Amanda discusses Kyle’s infidelity rumors with Ciara Miller. Apparently, after receiving so many whispers about him potentially cheating, she began to tune it out, which is unhealthy.

“Someone wrote in to Page Six, ‘Oh, apparently Kyle was seeing X, Y, and Z,’ and Kyle was like, ‘There’s no truth to this’. ‘But, it’s just like, I don’t know. The fact that I’m numb to it now scares me. I shouldn’t feel that way,’” she explained in the video shared by Bravo’s The Daily Dish.

During a confessional, Amanda reflects on her relationship with Kyle and is saddened by how it’s already falling apart.

“Once upon a time, I thought you fall in love, and when you choose the person that you want to get married to, you’re happy and then you have kids and then things get difficult … I didn’t think sh*t would be this hard in the first few years.”

The former Summer House couple are navigating their new reality. Earlier this month, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula announced their split after a decade together. Their weekends were filmed for Summer House since Season 1. And a lot of issues went unresolved as they bickered over where to live, and whether to expand their family.

Luckily Amanda and Kyle are in a good space. And they spoke about living seperately and coparenting their dogs.

The Summer House favorites appeared on the Tuesday, January 27, episode of SiriusXM’s Front Row show. Both Kiki Monique and Dorinda Medley were interested in how Kyle and Amanda were getting along post-split.

“Yeah, we’re good. And that’s it,” the swimwear designer shared.

She continued, “It’s … easier to get along. But we’re good. We talk all the time. We’re both traveling. So I’m watching the dogs. He’s watching the dogs. We’re coparenting the dogs together. Still call him if I have questions.”

Kyle said that he feels the pressure is off now, after four years of marriage. He said, “Every step we’ve taken, there’s a little bit of, like, a weight has been lifted. And ironically, I feel like this last week, having kind of pressed post together, it felt like we were a little more lighthearted.”

Ultimately, Kyle championed their emotions these days. “More than anything, I want her to be happy,” he explained. “I want us both to be happy.” And he’s still around to help his estranged wife if she needs it. In a recent situation, Amanda “panicked” and didn’t “know” what to do.

“I had the windows open. I was standing on a chair waving my towel. My neighbors were just staring at me. I was panicked,” she said when her smoke alarm went off. “Also, I was high.”

The conversation shifted to the pair’s dogs, Reese and Ryder. It was suggested that Amanda and Kyle defer to Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz. “Yeah. Well, I don’t know who we should be asking advice from,” Kyle said. “We’re creating our own blueprint.”

Over the years, Summer House fans have seen Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula squabble many, many times. Furthermore, the now-separated couple had to relive those arguments while watching their show.

After years of watching and revisiting every on-camera fight they’d ever had, Amanda made the decision to stop the merry-go-round. According to Kyle, around Season 6 or 7, Amanda declared, “I’d rather not watch with you.”

On Carl Radke’s More Life podcast (taped before the couple’s separation announcement), Kyle explained that the show caused tension in his and Amanda’s relationship. “We’d pick up right where we left off,” he explained. “Like, ‘Here’s why I felt that way.;’ ‘Well, here’s why I felt that way.’ It [was] challenging.”

Even though it’s tough watching some scenes, Kyle claims, “I love seeing for the first time things I wasn’t a part of, even when people are literally talking sh*t about me.”

Just two weeks after the podcast was filmed, Kyle and Amanda announced their split via Instagram. “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple. We … ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

Summer House viewers watched Kyle and Amanda’s relationship develope on-screen. They began dating in 2016, getting engaged two years later. Though they married in 2021, Kyle just never seemed able to grow up and settle down.

In recent months, rumors circulated about whether the couple were living separately. While they claimed to be “committed” to their relationship, in November they confessed to be “going through a challenging time.”
