Below Deck Down Under - Season 4
Photo Credit: Fred Jagueneau/Bravo via Getty Images

Last night, Season 4 of Below Deck Down Under premiered. We’re only one episode in. Yet, we already have some predictions for this season.

In the galley, tensions are quickly mounting. Poor Alesia Harris. She has “a passion” for cooking. But as Ben Robinson’s already noted, her “passion” isn’t translating well.

Meanwhile, the interior department is already down one stew. In Episode 1, Joe Caron received a phone call from home. Her grandfather was in the hospital, and things weren’t looking great. So, Joe decided to leave filming, right as the first chaotic group of charter guests came aboard.

With one less hand in the interior department, demanding charter guests who thrive on rumors, nastiness, and Diet Coke, and bubbling tensions, both good and bad, arising out of every corner, BDDU Season 4 is off to the races. Regarding the rest of this season, these are now our top storyline predictions.

Alesia Harris will be fired or quit on Below Deck Down Under Season 4

Alesia made her debut as a BDDU sous-chef in Season 3. Her interactions with that season’s chef didn’t exactly land well. Unfortunately, history seems to be repeating itself for Alesia in Season 4. Her new chef, Ben, demands perfection, but perfection isn’t exactly Alesia’s middle name.

Alesia knows that she’s green. She’s never attended culinary school. However, she does have something to prove to her mother, who doubts her career path as a chef. But in her very first scene with Ben this season, he made sure to note that her cutting skills were lacking, making Alesia’s face visibly fall.

Then, Alesia used the wrong pan and burnt some eggs. Next, she burnt her hand, only to later overspill one of her pans while helping Ben make a cheesecake. Now, Ben is a blunt man. Therefore, his reactions to several of Alesia’s blunders have already come across as harsh, as evidenced by Alesia’s dejected responses.

On one hand, we already have a chef crashing out in the galley, making me cheer, BDDU IS BACK! But on the other hand, Alesia won’t last long if things continue as they are. And when we saw the trailer at the end of Episode 1, showing Alesia crying in the wheelhouse, admitting that this gig might be crushing her soul, the first prediction formed. Basically, Alesia is either going to quit, get fired, or learn how to adapt to Ben’s cheeky ways as this season progresses.

Furthering firing speculations, in the end trailer, Daisy Kelliher is seemingly telling Alesia that she can get off the boat. But edits are meant to be tricky. So, who knows? But either way, something has to give for Alesia.

A love triangle approaches BDDU for Jenna Woudberg, Ben Robinson, and Eddy Hounsell

BDDU

What even is this franchise without a love triangle or two, no? Typically, these messy scenarios consist of one male and two females. But this season, Jenna Woudberg might be turning things on their heads. Like the “still to come” trailer teased, this stew is about to rock both Ben and Eddy Hounsell’s yachts.

Ben is newly single, as he and his fiancée recently called off their engagement. He is now $50k poorer, because weddings require all the things. So, as he said, “the best way to get over someone” is to get underneath another. But he was talking about the motor yacht Katina here, joking, “I think Katina could be my new girl.”

Meanwhile, Eddy is one of the new deckhands this season. He had an awkward childhood, but once he learned how to lean into his smaller frame, Eddy grew “a lot more confident.” During his first episode, he noted that Alesia was his type. But in the trailer, we heard Jenna admitting, “Eddy is on my mind.”

“But it’s nice, getting to know Ben,” she added. The frame then shows Jenna and Ben walking hand in hand. “I like you, okay?” Ben admits. But then we see Eddy, angrily walking away.

“If you want my advice, stay the f*ck away from the two of them,” Daisy advised, as the screen went dark on our first predicated love triangle of the season.

João Franco and Daisy Kelliher’s boatmance will hurt her relationship with Chef Ben

BDDU

João Franco and Daisy have never worked together before. But here they are, leading their department heads on BDDU. However, as the trailer teases, they will soon be more than just colleagues. In an upcoming episode, these two will breezily inquire about each other’s statuses, which kicks off a love story of sorts for these staple yachties.

As Daisy joked, she typically goes for “d*ckheads,” which, YEP, and no comment. Then, we see clip after clip of Daisy and João kissing, both on and off the yacht. But are they in love, someone unseen asks? “I don’t know,” we heard Daisy answering.

But as we also saw, Daisy will struggle with Ben this season. Their heated interactions may or may not be why we also saw João struggling with Ben in the trailer. During Episode 1, Ben and João got along just fine. But later this season, João will seemingly approach Ben on Daisy’s behalf, causing Ben to (verbally) revolt.

Before this season aired, Daisy noted that Ben liked to act like a guest during filming. And sure enough, in João’s heated scene with Ben, Ben is in a guest cabin, seemingly living his best spread-out life without guests on board. Viewers can’t hear what João said to Ben, but Ben is yelling, “f*cking wanker” at João. Whatever happened here, I predict that Daisy and João’s boatmance will further sink her working relationship with Ben.

Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock.

Welcome back, land dwellers! Finally, Below Deck Down Under Season 4, Episode 1 is here, led once again by Captain Jason. At his side are several returning yachties, including Chef Ben, Chief Stew Daisy, Second Officer João, and Sous Chef Alesia. Several new characters are also coming aboard to work alongside this “A team.” So, let’s dive right into this first, supersized episode, shall we? Here’s what went down in BDDU Season 4, Episode 1.

What happened in Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 1?

After the originally hired chef backs out, Ben exits his years-long Bravo hibernation to save Season 4. But can he survive his first charter group, featuring the ever-messy and always iconic cast of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City? Not really, as his cast is already facing a boatload of troubles with these women. So basically, we’re “BACK BABY!”

The cast of BDDU Season 4 boards the motor yacht Katina

Captain Jason “can’t have” another season with his “heads of departments at each other.” So this season, he’s bringing on four well-seasoned yachties, Ben, Daisy, João, and Alesia. As he notes, Canouan is their new setting. And no, that’s not in Australia, but he’s Australian, so “Down Under is wherever” he decides to be.

Daisy, Ben, and João board first. Ben hasn’t worked on a yacht in “six years,” but a week before Season 4’s cameras picked up, he ran into Captain Jason. Ben “took him to lunch at the Outback Steakhouse, because he’s Australian.” And when Captain Jason revealed that his chef had dropped out, Ben decided to return, mostly because “he needed an escape” from his failed engagement.

Deck/stew Mike arrives next. Thankfully, Daisy and João are already working well together. They plan to use Mike on deck in the morning, and in the evening, he’ll work in the interior. João’s “grown up,” he states, and even though he’s a captain, he’s happy to put his ego aside and work as the second officer for Captain Jason.

Stews Jenna and Joe arrive next, followed by deckhands Eddy and Betul, and finally, Alesia. The galley will “have a great vibe” this season, Captain Jason tells Alesia. Is this … false foreshadowing?

The crew heads to their first preference sheet meeting. The ladies of RHOSLC are their first charter guests, Captain Jason reveals, as his OG’s faces immediately register a solid mix of excitement and horror. Then, Daisy designates Jenna as her second stew.

One crew member exits, while the cast of RHOSLC enters

The next morning, Ben and Alesia prepare brunch for the crew, but Alesia uses the wrong pan and burns the eggs. Ben shows her an easier route, but as he’s talking, Alesia burns her hand. Feeling big emotions, she excuses herself for a cathartic cry. Her mom convinced her to pass on culinary school, so now, all Alesia wants to do is prove her wrong.

Next door, a cell phone rings insistently. And nearby, a private plane lands, depositing Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay (the primary), Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, and Britani Bateman in Canouan. Later, Bronwyn Newport will also join them.

While changing into her whites, Joe finally answers that phone. It’s her dad. Her grandfather is in the hospital, and things aren’t looking good. Joe falls to the ground, and when Daisy enters, Joe admits that she’s leaving.

“We’re f*cked,” Daisy states. Captain Jason calls his crew together, urging everyone to “pitch in” for this likely demanding charter.

Speaking of these devils, the Housewives have arrived. As they start drinking and touring the yacht, Captain Jason sneaks Joe off, reminding her that she is “doing the right thing.” Finally, the first charter of Season 4 leaves the dock, right after the Housewives argue over the cabins.

Typical.

Tensions rise across the yacht

Ben cheekily critiques Alesia’s cutting techniques. I don’t think his wit lands well, though, so this might be a long season for the pair. Likewise, this might be a long charter for the men, because Britani is on a “thirty-day break” from her on-again, off-again, frustrating man, Jared Osmond, and her eyes are already set on Captain Jason.

At the table, Whitney warns Britani that if she says her man’s name, she’ll get splashed. She accepts Whitney’s challenge and immediately gets doused by Heather, Meredith, and Whitney. “These are the friends I need,” Jenna jokes. Right after, Meredith dumps an entire pitcher of water over Britani for referencing “a certain someone.”

Bronwyn finally arrives via a water taxi, wearing a ridiculously-her outfit. In the galley, Alesia’s salad isn’t up to Ben’s standards. But neither is Britani’s stuffed unicorn, which Bronwyn jokes about “throwing overboard.” Additionally, Angie’s seasick, certain women want help unpacking, one’s lost a nipple-cover, and the others need another drink, leaving Daisy exhausted with these “unhinged” women.

In the galley, Ben and Alesia misunderstand each other. Back at the table, Bronwyn suggests that someone is leaking stories. “Nobody would do that here,” Lisa responds. Down below, Jenna finds a cucumber in Whitney’s luggage while poor Mike works solo with these “f*cking nutjob” women.

The Housewives spiral into chaos

The ladies head down to the water toys. Captain Jason joins them, riding tandem with Heather on a Seabob. Whitney jokes, “You’re riding him, finally!”

Ben and Alesa start prepping a cheesecake. In the ocean, Angie serves the fish a nice serving of vomit. Poor Angie.

Poor Alesia as well. Her pan is overflowing, making Ben sigh. Her “passion for cooking” isn’t translating well, he notes.

Angie is still down for the count. Mary’s concerned for her friend, so she eats her dinner by Angie’s side. Back at the table, Britani breaks a rule by talking “sh*t” about Mary in her absence. But once Britani accuses Meredith of faking seizures, all hell breaks loose.

As the ladies argue, Ben radios for Daisy, who’s in over her head with these guests. Right on cue, Meredith stands, once again dousing Britani with water. Britani repays her non-kindness, breaking her glass in turn. Daisy calls for Mike to clean up the shards, as Ben grows angrier by the second in the galley, waiting to plate his dishes for timely service.

“These b*tches are next level delulu,” Daisy states, adding, “I’m over this.”

Below Deck Down Under continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.

Tonight, Below Deck Down Under Season 4 premieres. And when it does, several familiar faces will be at the helm. This season, Captain Jason Chambers clearly scored a major win with the casting department. But even though he’s getting the cream of this franchise’s crop, problems will still arise onboard.

This season, Captain Jason’s right-hand lady is none other than Daisy Kelliher, who jumped ship from Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Since the fate of BDSY remains unknown, this opportunity is a great one for Daisy. That is, as long as her interior team can also rise to the occasion.

Meanwhile, João Franco is walking onboard as the exterior department head. Now, João has appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean and BDDU. And thankfully, he and Daisy seemingly get along this season, based on everything we’ve read so far.

Finally, in the galley, Ben Robsinson is making his way out of retirement. Ben hasn’t worked on a yacht in years. But this season, Captain Jason needed a last-minute replacement, and luckily for him, Ben just so happened to be free.

Clearly, with three returning department heads, consider fans ready for BDDU Season 4. But what have these OGs teased about this all-star season?

Daisy Kelliher says Chef Ben Robinson “challenged” her on Below Deck Down Under Season 4

As seen in the trailer, Daisy and Ben have never worked together before. And after this season, they may never work together again. Unless, that is, you take Ben’s words over Daisy’s.

To explain, when asked at BravoCon how Season 4 went, Daisy made sure to note that Ben “challenged [her] in every way possible.” However, “at first, he was great. But then I learned he couldn’t tell time, so that was a big problem when it came to dinner service,” she explained. At her side, Ben rolled his eyes in good humor, and then he challenged Daisy’s stance.

“I’m English. Different timezone,” Ben quipped. Daisy laughed, but then she further explained that their relationship this season was “interesting.” Because in addition to his failed “timekeeping,” Ben also behaves “like a guest” this season, Daisy revealed, noting her shock that Ben wasn’t wearing one of their guests’ robes while sitting on this panel.

So, what rubbed Ben the wrong way about Daisy? “Nothing really, to be honest,” Ben answered. “Actually, I thought we had a great relationship. I’m completely blindsided.”

But the way João, Daisy, and even Ben immediately started laughing teases otherwise. Whatever happens here, at least they can all laugh about it now. However, the verdict is still out on Alesia Harris’s take. As of now, her statements about BDDU Season 4 are limited.

Daisy and João Franco have a strong connection

What Daisy Kelliher *really* thinks of João Franco WWHL BelowDeckDownUnder

♬ original sound – BravoWWHL – BravoWWHL

On this same BravoCon panel, the moderator noted that Daisy seemed to share a strong bond with João, at least according to the trailer. When pressed about whether it was “love or lust at first sight” with João, Daisy stammered. After admitting that her “adrenaline [was] going so fast,” Daisy finally acknowledged that their bond was more of “a slow build.”

“I’m a slow builder, so I don’t wanna give too many spoilers away,” Daisy continued. “But João and I had a great relationship, we’re friends,” she stressed. Yet, when saying the word “friends,” Daisy did so flirtatiously, making João laugh on their shared stage. Apart from his laughter, João didn’t add anything extra to Daisy’s statement, but we do know that, whatever happens, João is already back with his ex, whose name is not Daisy.

Regardless, after their cameras went down, Daisy appeared on Watch What Happens Live. While here, she reiterated that she and João “worked well as a team.” And, as far as João goes, last October, he teased, “THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE CRAZY RIDE!!”

He was speaking about their crossover episodes with the cast of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. And as João further stressed, “Can’t wait until you all see our side of these episodes.” Fans won’t have to wait very long for this, as these hot messes are the very first charter guests of Season 4.

Captain Jason Chambers promises “dynamics” shifting in the BDDU crew

Between the hot and cold pairings of his department heads, Captain Jason might experience a turbulent season. Or not. Captains never really see the drama until each season airs. Even still, he admits that he’s lucky to have such capable yachties on board.

As Captain Jason explained to TV Insider, this season, Daisy thankfully “blew it right out of the park. Her process, of wanting to perform at her best, is all we can ask for, and she did. First and foremost, she wants to do her job very well. That’s all you can ask from the cruise.”

Regarding Ben and João, these yachties also gained Captain Jason’s trust. But the crew dynamics as a whole will either sink or swim this season, he admits.

“I think the crew dynamic that goes on, I can only imagine what happened off the boat because I hadn’t seen it myself. What I see we put together and what we came out with, I had to understand what was happening. I’m [mostly] worried about what is happening at work, but you could see the dynamics shift so many times with the crew. But at the end of the day, in front of the house, we were spot on with the charter guests,” Captain Jason detailed.

He continued, “You’re going to see João’s character come out, Daisy’s, and all the crew that participated. All of them have a great story to tell. I think we got there in the end.”

Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock.

It’s been a bit since fans last saw João Franco on Bravo. The last time we saw him was when he joined the yacht midway through Below Deck Down Under Season 2. But soon, this very series will call João back to the dock for Season 4. So, ahead of this new run, João is making sure to give credit where it’s due. Meaning, his girlfriend, since João is about to entertain a boatmance for her all the world to see, including her, once BDDU Season 4 premieres.

João gets close with Daisy Kelliher in the BDDU Season 4 trailer

The trailer for BDDU Season 4 recently dropped. It’s a fun one, featuring the return of several fan-favorite yachties from across this franchise. One of these “A team” members is Daisy Kelliher. And as the trailer teases, she and João are about to makeout, many, many times.

Throughout this trailer, several arguments take place. But none of these squabbles are between Daisy and João. Nevertheless, both Daisy and João will face heated roadblocks with other crew members, which is likely why João recently posted, labeling this season as a “tough one.”

Another reason that this season might be “tough” for this returning bosun is that, he and his girlfriend “had broken up” ahead of filming. They have since gotten back together, so, as João now fears, watching this season might be “really sh*tty for people I’m close to, and [that’s] not fair” for them to endure. So, ahead of BDDU Season 4, João wanted to show his support for his ex-turned-current leading lady.

“So here is for a little recognition to someone who truly wears her heart on her sleeve and shows up no matter what,” João wrote, followed by the heart emoji.

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 premieres February 2 at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 and Below Deck Down Under Season 4 crossover has just begun. As we saw, João Franco had to serve these ladies while they argued. Even though he kept a (mostly) straight face while doing so, João is now teasing future messes, dead ahead, once the second half of this trip airs on RHOSLC. And then again, once BDDU premieres and this crossover gets told from his cast’s point of view.

João Franco is excited for Below Deck Down Under viewers to get the full RHOSLC crossover story

After RHOSLC Episode 7 aired, João posted a string of images to his since-expired Instagram Stories. Cue The Daily Dish, quickly resharing his snaps with fans. Then, João posted again, but this time on his grid, which shows how excited he must be about this crossover.

In his stories, João noted that he was watching RHOSLC Season 6 Episode 7. After reposting a RHOSLC reel that revealed the cast of BDDU Season 4, João hit his caps lock and penned, “THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE CRAZY RIDE!!”

In his next story, we see João and Captain Jason Chambers with their arms around each other, smiling through their pains as the cast of RHOSLC yelled and dined before them on the sundeck. “NO WORDS NEEDED,” João captioned, followed by the laughing with tears emoji. Watching these two men silently serve these women while they argued was everything.

Instead, as João reminded everyone on his grid, we still have another crossover episode on RHOSLC to consume. We also have at least one, but more than likely two, episodes waiting for us on BDDU, once this series debuts in 2026. On this, “Can’t wait until you all see our side of these episodes,” João wrote.

The second half of this Real Housewives of Salt Lake City trip airs Tuesday at 8/7c on Bravo. Meanwhile, Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock.

The highly anticipated crossover episode featuring the casts of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 and Below Deck Down Under Season 4 aired. Even though it focused the heaviest on the RHOSLC cast, we were still able to meet the upcoming faces on BDDU. In this lineup, we spotted five returning, highly qualified yachties. And at their sides were four new crew members, who also seem (so far) solid enough.

Obviously, Captain Jason Chambers is one of the five returning stars. This sought-after bachelor is the mainstay of this series. But who are the four familiar faces on his team for Season 4? And what four new names should we all start Googling, solely to learn about who his newbies are ahead of Episode 1?

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 cast includes some major returnees

Daisy Kelliher

This season, the department heads are all returning stars. Whether these yachties appeared on BDDU or another series in the Below Deck franchise, these four crew members all know how to hold their own, both with their work ethics and their storylines.

“Hello, lovelies.” This season on BDDU, Chef Ben Robinson is taking back his throne in the galley. Ben has starred in multiple series in this franchise. But this will be his first season on BDDU. The last year we saw this man on Bravo was in 2019, so consider me eager for his return.

Like Ben, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher has starred in this franchise for years, but this will also be her first season on BDDU. With two new-to-her stews on her team, hopefully Daisy fares well. Because, as it seems, her former series might be dead in the water.

Leading the deck team is Second Officer João Franco. João has also starred in other Below Deck series, but the last time we saw him was during Season 2 of BDDU. João has worked with Captain Jason and Ben before, but never with Daisy.

Finally, Ben has some help in the galley this season, courtesy of Sous-Chef Alesia Harris. Alesia joined this franchise during BDDU Season 3. She learned quickly, but with Ben as her new boss, her skills will only continue to improve (hopefully).

The BDDU Season 4 cast also includes some newbies

Jenna Woudberg stars on the interior team as one of Daisy’s stews. Bravo has yet to release the bios for these newbies. But thanks to Episode 7 of RHOSLC, we already know that Jenna is competent. We also know that she’s skilled at finding extra-thick, ownerless cucumbers while cleaning.

Mike Durrant joins Jenna and Daisy in a deck/stew role. Mike is new to Bravo, but he’s not new to the reality television genre. He recently starred on Dating Naked UK Season 1, which is now streaming on Paramount+. But now, Mike can be found behind the BDDU bar, listening to drunken women talk about how they “buy and sell” things for their careers.

Rounding out this crew, Eddy Hounsell and Betul Yazici are also joining BDDU as deckhands. As seen on RHOSLC, Eddy knows how to rescue seasick, paddleboard-riding damsels in distress. And Betul is funny and hardworking. So, WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

Hopefully, nothing. Because from where we’re sitting, the crew on BDDU Season 4 looks like one of the greatest groups of new and returning yachties yet.

RHOSLC fans saw the Below Deck Down Under Season 4 cast on a recent episode

Last night, the Bravo crossover of our dreams finally aired. Minus Heather Gay getting a bit too handsy with our man, Captain Jason, these scenes were all fun as hell to watch. But based on the flashforward that aired at the start of this episode, these seas will soon grow choppy. “They’re literally killing each other,” observed Daisy.

As Captain Jason and his team welcomed these Real Housewives stars to the yacht, Angie Katsanevas gave them all a warning. “You’ll never work so hard for your money in your life,” she said. Overall, Angie wasn’t joking. Between serving their guests as they loudly argue over allegations of fraud and leaked gossip to the press, and a cast member needing a water rescue from Eddy, the BDDU is indeed working hard for their money.

But from everything that we saw, every department served these ladies well. They also offered solidly snarky commentary about their guests, which I loved. And now that this crossover episode of RHOSLC has aired, fans are eager to watch this charter group again. Only this time, from the BDDU Season 4 cast members’ POV instead.

Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock.

Below Deck Down Under Season 2’s finale aired last week. However, a reunion never followed. Typically, a reunion provides viewers with closure at the end of each season, so now, we’re left with a lot of questions. Without a reunion, certain individuals also cannot explain their actions, or even make amends with their co-stars, if needed.

Sadly, reunions are not often seen in the Below Deck franchise. Over the years, several reasons have been given as to why, including the fact that a new host for these reunions might be in need. In addition, the crews typically work onboard other yachts once their season ends. This means that these yachties are unable to fly in to New York for a whole-group discussion.

While Zoom reunions have occurred, these are also a struggle. Oftentimes, these still-working working cast members are stretched out across multiple time zones. We’ve therefore seen individuals filming at wild hours, such as 3 a.m., as they were too far away to fit into a typical time slot like their co-stars.

As for why this particular season of Below Deck Down Under didn’t film a reunion, one cast member weighed in. Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph took to her since-expired Instagram stories to share one assumption. Here, the Cheffy shared that protecting Margot Sisson, who was involved in an attempted sexual assault onboard, was likely a reason as to why the reunion was cut.

Aesha Scott and Captain Jason Chambers did pop into Watch What Happens Live right after the finale, but that’s all that we got. We’ll probably never know why a full cast sit-down failed to transpire. Nonetheless, it’s still a bummer that there wasn’t a Below Deck Down Under Season 2 Reunion. Here’s why.

Viewers Won’t Hear About Margot’s Transformation

Margot Sisson/Instagram

Clearly, Margot had a rough season. To cope, Margot turned to alcohol. When her drinking during charters became noticeable, Aesha and Captain Jason intervened. Following a wheelhouse conversation, Margot was able to keep her job onboard, where her behaviors quickly began to change.

On the finale episode, Captain Jason recognized Margot’s changes, and offered her an off-air yachting gig. However, Margot knew that she was broken. She therefore declined his gracious offer, stating that she needed to take a beat to heal.

After filming, Margot has put in even more work on bettering herself. Margot posted about her season recently, explaining her journey both during and post filming. “Seeing myself turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism repeatedly throughout the season was really sad and painful to watch…Following the show, I got the support I needed, took A LOT of time to reflect, and I abstained from alcohol for over a year,” she penned.

It would have been really great to hear from Margot post filming. Her growth both during and after this charter season is admirable. We are therefore bummed that a Below Deck Down Under Season 2 reunion was cut, as Margot’s growth deserves to be known and celebrated.

Viewers Won’t Hear About João’s Glow Up(s)

https://www.instagram.com/p/CxXazBKLyNS/
João Franco/Instagram

João Franco really redeemed himself on Below Deck Down Under Season 2. His showing on this series was way better than that of any of his previous seasons on Below Deck. He mended his working relationship with Aesha, and led his deck team with grace.

Like Margot, João posted his reflections. His words indicate that he too has made a few life changes, including breaking away “from people who brought out the worst” in him. Without a reunion, we won’t know exactly who João was referencing.

What we do know is that some really excellent things have taken place in João’s life post filming. Among his listed achievements were “Met a girl, Traveled the world, Got my Big boat captain’s license, Bought land and I’m currently building my dream house, [and] Got a job on one of the newest boats in the world.”

Woah. These are all positive, major life events. With the Below Deck Down Under Season 2 reunion being cut, viewers will now be robbed of João’s glow-ups, which is a major bummer.

Speculations Won’t Be Answered

Margot Sisson/Instagram

We have so many questions about the many potential pairings that occurred this season. For example, Harry Van Vliet had a huge crush on Margot. When Margot friend-zoned him, Harry then became the best dang friend that any girl could ever hope to have.

Post filming, Harry came to the U.S., where he spent a lot of time with Margot. In photos and reels posted online, the duo still seem incredibly close. Did they remain friends, or did Margot’s heart soften towards the nicest deckhand ever seen on Below Deck?

On the post finale WWHL episode, Captain Jason stated that Culver Bradbury and Jaimee Neale went on a month long tour of Western Australia together post filming. However, Captain Jason went on to say that the couple has since called it quits. Aesha then implied that there might have even been a few dirty texts sent between Jaimee and an unknown individual, which is what possibly ended her pairing with Culver. We have so many questions…

Finally, on a separate episode of WWHL, Culver and Tzarina were very flirtatious with each other. Did their failed on-air romance reignite once Culver parted ways with Jaimee? Honestly, we hope not, as we think that our Cheffy deserves better than a mullet-wearing player.

Without a reunion for Below Deck Down Under Season 2, none of these questions will be addressed, which has left us beyond bummed. That said, if any of this season’s crew members happen to be reading this, feel free to leave us resolution in the comments. And when I say feel free, I basically mean DO IT.

Below Deck and its various spin-offs have seen many different crews throughout the seasons, although some worked more efficiently together than others. While some seasons have featured great interior crews and less likable deck crews, others have been the opposite. It only takes one bad crew member to ruin a team, which is something the Below Deck franchise has seen no shortage of.

These Below Deck crews, on the other hand, showcased excellent teamwork throughout the entire season and worked well together as a team. During these seasons, the interior and exterior teams worked efficiently together to give charter guests the best yachting experience possible.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2

Bravo/YouTube

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 was not only one of the spin-off’s best seasons but also featured some of the best teamwork ever witnessed on Below Deck. After a dull first season, Sailing Yacht returned with an entirely new cast, apart from Captain Glenn Shephard.

Sailing Yacht Season 2 was when viewers were first introduced to Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, who maintained a great relationship with 2nd and 3rd Stews Dani Soares and Alli Dore. The three women were arguably one of the best interior crews Below Deck has ever seen, and worked efficiently together all season to give charter guests the best possible experience.

Colin MacRae and Gary King also made their debut on Season 2, long before their infamous love triangle with Daisy. Back then, the three were actually good friends and managed to work well together without any awkward drama in the middle. Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux was also a key team player and made a great Deckhand, who of course worked well with his love interest Alli.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4

Bravo/YouTube

When it comes to yacht-wide teamwork, Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 is another season that comes out on top. Captain Sandy Yawn of course led the entire team, and surprisingly worked well with a lot of the season’s crew members. Season 4 featured another great interior team, led by Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier along with 2nd and 3rd Stews Aesha Scott and Anastasia Surmava.

Anastasia was the biggest team player on Season 4, after she stepped in as Chef after Mila Kolomeitseva failed to do the job. While Anastasia did not have culinary training, she nonetheless did a great job as Chef and did not let the pressure from Captain Sandy bother her.

Aesha was also involved in a boatmance with Deckhand Jack Stirrup, which prompted them to work well together also. While Aesha and Jack were likable as a couple, they were also both great team players on their own. Jack was a fan favorite, and of course a valuable asset to the exterior team.

The exterior team also worked effectively together, with Bosun João Franco and Deckhand Colin Macy-O’Toole being stand-out personalities this season. Both the interior and exterior teams took their jobs extremely seriously this season and worked well together to have a great charter season.

Below Deck Season 4

Bravo/YouTube

Finally, while Below Deck Season 4 certainly featured some chaotic moments, it ultimately demonstrated great teamwork as well. Captain Lee Rosbach led the team with his sassy and dramatic ways, but was likable nonetheless. Kate Chastain served as Chief Stew this season, with arguably the best interior team in Below Deck history. 2nd and 3rd Stews Emily Warburton-Adams and Sierra Storm worked extremely hard all season.

Kelley Johnson did an excellent job as Bosun this season, and Ben Robinson also worked hard to pull his weight as Chef. While Deckhand Trevor Walker threatened to hurt the team at the beginning of the season, things returned to normal after he was fired by Captain Lee. While the work of the interior team is really what made the teamwork on Season 4 stand out, the exterior team deserves some credit as well.

When it comes to the Below Deck franchise, teamwork is absolutely key. Below Deck yacht charters are unlike anything else, and require the highest amount of dedication and teamwork to be accomplished successfully. These three yacht teams truly brought their best, even if their seasons may have had a tiny bit of drama!

Bravo‘s Below Deck series runs like a well-oiled machine. To start, the various spin-offs hire mostly new crews to star on each season. In addition, a few returning cast members are also brought onboard. As an exception, Below Deck Mediterranean‘s upcoming Season 8 has five returning crew members, which makes up half of this season’s cast.

With so many known rehires on this soon-to-air series, it’s gotten us pretty excited to watch Season 8’s drama unfold. The main reason is that we already know half of these faces from across the franchise, so we are well aware of how horrible quirky they can each be when stressed. As a few of these returning crew members have been known to rock their yachts, we are sure that this season will be nothing short of a chaotic mess.

However, what if Bravo flipped the script by filling their yachts with ONLY familiar cast members? Furthermore, what if the majority of these recognized personalities were actually well-loved? Personally, we think that this concept would be a massive hit.

To explain, the Real Housewives franchise has the Ultimate Girls Trip spin-off(s), and the viewership is pretty high. This same result would likely occur again if this process were to be repeated for Bravo’s other highly-viewed series. Therefore, we greatly feel that Bravo should consider filming a Below Deck All Stars season. This is why (with a side of how).

How Could This Work?

Zach Dilgard/Bravo

In terms of the charter guests for an All Stars season, these vacationers could be a mixture of returning groups and/or various personalities from across the Bravo network. This would make for a totally All Stars filled series. Case in point, Project Runway recently collided with Below Deck, and it was beyond fun to watch. Additionally, whenever a charter guest returns, their prior behaviors are already known, further bringing a sense of familiarity to all involved.

Now for the hard part, the crew.

Everyone has their justified reasons regarding their favorite Below Deck crew members. With claims of micromanagement and snitching, as well as outspoken personalities filled with snarky clap-backs and/or past poor behaviors, crew members like Captain Sandy Yawn, Malia White, Kate Chastain, Rhylee Gerber, Eddie Lucas, and Hannah Ferrier are all either loved or loathed. Therefore, in an effort to appease as many viewers as possible, multiple Below Deck All Stars seasons would likely need to transpire.

An All Stars Cast Would Boost Ratings

Chef Ben Robinson, Kate Chastain

Having known crew members reappear from seasons past would likely bring in viewers by the droves. For example, the bickering and bantering between Kate and Chef Ben Robinson made for some of the best scenes in this franchise. Having these sibling-like personalities onboard a yacht together again would for sure cause many to tune in, ourselves included.

And no, Ben is still not the father of Kate’s son. However, knowing their snarky personalities, they’d likely joke about this often if cast together.

Furthermore, if production brought back Captain Lee Rosbach, the numbers would be through the roof. As Captain Lee was not brought back for Season 11, many viewers expressed that they’d never watch Below Deck again. However, if he returned to film an All Stars season, it’s highly likely that these viewers would all return.

An All Stars Cast Could Let Fans Reconnect With Their Favorites

Charles Sykes/Bravo

Below Deck first premiered in 2013. This means that an entire decade has passed since some of Below Deck’s yachties first made their initial showings on-air. From weddings to babies to totally new career ventures, many have undergone huge life changes in recent years. Some have even stayed in the yachting industry, earning higher certifications that could lend to higher positions if brought back to the Below Deck franchise.

New beginnings and growth should be celebrated. This is just another reason why Bravo should consider filming a Below Deck All Stars season, so that the viewers can see firsthand just how much their favorites have evolved. Or, not evolved, which could be fun as well.

An All Stars Cast Could See Foes Mending Fences

Joao Franco, Hannah Ferrier
Greg Endries/Getty Images

Over the years, several heated arguments have divided the various Below Deck crew members. During Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4, João Franco and Aesha Scott were at odds. Pretty much every viewer sided with Aesha, leaving João exiting the series as a not well-liked character. However, João has just reappeared on Below Deck Down Under Season 2, and this second chance has seen his working relationship with Aesha restored, in addition to his regaining viewers’ trust.

That said, Hannah and Captain Sandy should never, ever, sail together again. However, we did love watching Hannah and João mend their friendship after a disastrous Below Deck Mediterranean Season 3.

Everyone deserves a second chance, as well as a redemption arch, if needed. In a season where everyone is struggling to just make it through the day, we could all use a dose of feel-good television, filled with righted wrongs. If Bravo created an All Stars season, perhaps many other tales of foes turning into friends could be told. We deserve nice things, Bravo, so please, consider this ask.

Below Deck Down Under Season 2 has just wrapped on Bravo, and chillllld, the amount of love sought was high. Aesha Scott was the only crew member to walk onboard in a committed relationship. All around Aesha, her crew mates clambered to find love. Though several connections were made, they were all seen failing by the finale episode.

By my last count, six different romantic pairings were seen during Season 2. And no, I am not including any of the pairings that involved either of the two crew members who were fired over their sexual assault attempts. With all of this love being easily thrown around, this season might as well have been called The Failed Love Boat. Here’s why.

Culver and Tzarina – Failed

Culver Bradbury/Instagram

When Culver Bradbury joined the crew in Episode 3, he made a beeline for Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. In turn, Tzarina equally enjoyed Culver’s company, and the two were often seen flirting in the galley during charters. However, Culver failed to communicate his feelings well, leaving Tzarina wondering just where the pair stood.

Just when Tzarina would get frustrated with the deckhand, Culver could be seen ramping up his flirtations. It was almost like he enjoyed having Tzarina on the other end of his annoying hook. That is until a desirable new Stew walked onboard mid season, causing Culver to loose his mullet-covered mind. At this point, Culver and Tzarina quickly fell apart, but luckily(?), the pair have remained friends.

Margot and Harry – Failed

Margot Sisson/Instagram

It’s no secret that Margot Sisson had a rough season. The Stewardess was often seen plying herself with liquor, as internally, Margot was dealing with the fallout from being one of the victims of assault onboard. Always by her side was Harry Van Vliet, a precious, supportive deckhand with strong Mr. Bean vibes.

Harry had a massive crush on Margot. As for Margot, in Harry’s arms is where she found rest, but in her heart, she could only see the deckhand as a friend. Though the pair attempted to date, Harry eventually saw the writing that was clearly all over the walls. Knowing that he had been friend-zoned, Harry remained beside Margot for support, even though this relationship’s failing surely stung him hard.

Tzarina and João – Failed

OMFGRealityTV/Instagram

João Franco walked onboard midway through Season 2, causing Tzarina to quickly forget about Culver. In a wild turn of events, Tzarina had already known about this new Bosun’s formerly poor ways with women, as he had engaged in a previous fling with one of her yachting industry friends in the past. That said, João has shown a lot of growth, and he began to grow on the Chef. As Tzarina’s heart began to soften towards João, flirtations turned into a night of passion, which we were all privy to, because WHY was that even filmed?!

Between miscommunications and a general lack of trust, their relationship slowly began to deteriorate. In the finale episode, Tzarina knew that things had officially failed when João drunkenly kissed Margot. Oopsies.

Culver and Jamie – Failed

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cv9zUORrMkO/
OMFGRealityTV/Instagram

Culver’s first glance at the new Stewardess Jaimee Neale made him completely ditch Tzarina, without telling her first of course. During Jaimee’s first night off with the crew, Culver made his move. Their first kiss turned into a shower scene, complete with noises that are again causing us to yell WHY was that ever necessary to add?!

Making her his officially, because a gorgeous new deckhand had also joined the crew and Culver didn’t want to loose his woman, Culver asked Jaimee to be his girlfriend. Even though Jaimee checked the yes box on Culver’s handmade card, everyone, sans Culver, could see that Jaimee was just trying to be kind.

During the finale, Jaimee kissed the aforementioned new deckhand, and as Aesha spilled on last night’s Watch What Happens Live episode, the two called it quits post-filming. Yet again, this Love Boat failed.

Jamiee and Luka – Failed

PortPalsPodcast/Instagram

Luka Brunton is a stunning individual, so no one was really shocked when Jaimee’s head turned in his direction, despite the fact that she was “dating” Culver. During the finale, Jaimee and Luka were spotted on their phones, communicating with each other via memes and flirtatious quips. At the bar, the pair even kissed, which Jaimee later confessed to Culver.

Even though Culver was upset, he chose to forgive Jaimee. As Jaimee herself admitted in a confessional, she didn’t want to hurt Culver any further, so she smiled and acted like she was happy that they could remain together. As a result, Jaimee’s pairing with Luka failed.

João and Margot – Failed

Decider.com/Instagram

This last pairing wasn’t anything official, but it was an attempt, so in this narrative it will remain. Letting off their frustrations following a long, stressful charter season, João asked Margot for a kiss, and she said yes. Immediately after, Margot regretted this incident, as did João, who had to answer to Tzarina, who had witnessed everything from just a few feet away.

No big deal, just another case of a failed Love Boat situation taking place on deck.
