“Boston Rob” Mariano and Bob the Drag Queen have put their Season 3 feud aside for a new project. The former Traitors are the hosts of Peacock’s official The Traitors podcast, which launched on Thursday, January 8, following the Season 4 premiere.

Together, they break down the strategy, drama, and fashion of each episode. They also bring on eliminated players to discuss their game and where it all went wrong. You can listen to the podcast on Spotify, Peacock, Apple Podcasts, and Peacock’s YouTube channel.

Reality Tea had the chance to chat with Rob and Bob about their new endeavor and where their friendship currently stands after their famous Season 3 rift.

When Peacock announced the hosts of The Traitors podcast, fans were surprised by the unlikely pairing. After all, Bob and Rob didn’t leave Season 3 on the best of terms.

The two started as allies, working in tandem to eliminate major threats from the castle. But over time, Rob noticed Bob held considerable sway in the Traitors’ Turret, which hindered his ability to make decisions.

In an attempt to gain more control, Rob partnered with Faithful Dylan Efron to banish Bob from the castle. He delivered a convincing speech at the roundtable, putting the nail in Bob’s coffin. 

Fans suspected the two were at odds, given Bob’s savage departure from the show, but the duo told us they have moved past game rivalries and developed a friendship. 

“Out of all the folks from the castle, Rob is probably the person I talk to the most,” Bob told us. “It’s kind of ironic considering that [Rob and I] were such enemies in the castle. It’s truly a story about how, through hard work and dedication, any friendship can prevail.” 

Rob said that Bob’s involvement in the podcast made him want to sign on. 

“When I found out that Bob would be my counterpart, I was really excited,” he said. “It’s basically a review show of the hit show The Traitors. We bring different perspectives to the podcast. We’re having a great time doing it.”

We would be amiss to ignore that the Traitors hold considerable power in the game. They control the murders, protecting them from one of the game’s more random elements. That immunity gives them an advantage that is hard to ignore. However, Traitors must embrace deception and risk, and not every player can pull if off. In fact, some players shy away from the more strategic parts of the game.

We consulted two former Traitors, Bob the Drag Queen and “Boston Rob” Mariano, to get their thoughts on which role they believe is more difficult to master.

Rob and Bob are experts when it comes to life inside the Traitors castle. The Season 3 alums are the hosts of the official Traitors podcast, which is available on Spotify, Peacock, and Peacock’s YouTube channel. Together, they breakdown all the strategy, drama, and fashion from Season 4.

We spoke to the former players about the new season and discussed which role has a better shot at the prize pot. 

“We’ve seen it both ways,” Rob said, referring to the fact that both roles have won the game. “There is a lot [about this game] you cannot control. There is a lot that is left to chance…From the outset, the Traitor role has an advantage.” 

“I think it depends on your constitution. How you are as a person,” Bob added. “If you are a person who cannot hold secrets, and you don’t feel good picking people off one-by-one, maybe the Traitor life isn’t for you.”

Reality Tea got the chance to chat about this phenomenon with two former Traitors, “Boston Rob” Mariano and Bob the Drag Queen. We unpacked why rooting for the bad guys is so irresistible, and they revealed who they believe is playing the best game.

Rob and Bob are well-versed in all the drama and strategy taking place in Alan Cumming’s Scottish castle this season. Together, they host the official Traitors companion podcast, available on Spotify, Peacock, Apple Podcasts, and Peacock’s YouTube.

Reality Tea spoke to the duo ahead of the release of Episode 7, which will be available on Peacock on Thursday, January 29, at 9 p.m. ET. We asked the hosts who they are rooting for this season, and they revealed they are Team Traitor.

“I worship at the altar of Candiace [Dillard Bassett],” Bob said. “Candiace is the diva, she’s the icon, I love her.”

Rob echoed Bob’s sentiment, saying Candiace is playing a good game. He also shouted out Traitor Rob Rausch, complimenting his under-the-radar gameplay.

In addition to revealing their favorite players, the pair spoke about why viewers are more drawn to the Traitors than the Faithfuls.

“This show is so insidious because it makes you root for the bad guy,” Bob said. “You always want the Traitors to win. I don’t know what it is about this show.”

“There are people [who] are playing good Faithful games. The problem with playing a good Faithful game is that it’s very boring,” Rob added. “It’s not exciting to watch … The Traitor game is the more exciting role.”

Reality Tea had the chance to chat with Bob and Rob ahead of the release of Episode 7, which will be available to stream on Peacock on Thursday, January 29, at 9 p.m. ET. The hosts shared their thoughts on the season so far, including Colton Underwood’s controversial decision to offer an alliance to Lisa Rinna, who is a Traitor.

Rob and Bob are well-versed in the intricacies of the game. The two were selected to be Traitors in Season 3, setting them on a path of deception, treachery, and murder. The pair had an impressive run, evading capture by assisting in banishing the innocent, and choosing their murder victims wisely. But eventually, their reign came to an end, and they left Scotland without the prize pot.

Their insider knowledge of the game makes them the perfect pair to break down Colton’s confusing play in Episode 6. The Bachelor alum felt confident that Lisa Rinna was guilty of being a Traitor, so he approached her and attempted to make a deal. His silence for her protection. Unfortunately for Colton, Lisa didn’t take the bait, and the conversation only increased his odds of being taken out of the game.

We asked Bob and Rob what they thought of this innovative move by Colton.

“I didn’t hate the sentiment at all. As a matter of fact, I like the out of the box thinking,” he said. “The problem I think was in the execution. He offered her, basically, an extortion. He was trying to get her to admit that she was a Traitor. By doing so, it put her on the defensive.”

Bob suggested that Colton could’ve been even more devious.

“What I think he should’ve done is go to her and be like, ‘One of the producers accidentally told me that you’re a Traitor.’ I’d do it really in the corner, try to hide it from the cameras—make it look like I’m not on camera. And I’d be like, ‘In fairness to the game, I’m gonna stop coming for you.’ Then, if she admits it, I’d be like, ‘Got you, b*tch,’” he told us, letting out a big laugh.

Donna Kelce became the first Traitor to fall in The Traitors Season 4, Episode 3. In the premiere episode, The NFL mom was selected for a coveted new position in the castle: The Secret Traitor. Unlike the other Traitors, Donna worked in the shadows. Neither the players, the Traitors, nor viewers at home knew her identity. Her job was to produce a murder shortlist that was handed to the Traitors, informing them which players were available for murder.

In Episode 3, Donna’s reign of secrecy came to an end when she was banished at the roundtable. “You got yourselves a Traitor,” she exclaimed before exiting the castle. With Donna gone, the Secret Traitor role is officially back in play. So, which player should be chosen for this powerful role?

Our picks for who the next Traitor should be in Season 4

The Secret Traitor holds considerable power in the game. They determine who is in danger of being axed each episode, and they have the advantage of operating in secret. In previous seasons, the Traitors had to trust that their villainous teammates would not expose them at the roundtable. You would think the Traitors would have each other’s backs, but this has not been the case. In Season 2, Dan Gheesling threw his fellow Traitor, Phaedra Parks, to the wolves in an attempt to save his own game. The following season, “Boston Rob” Mariano did the same to his Traitorous ally, Bob the Drag Queen. So, yes, the Secret Traitor has quite the advantage here. 

We don’t know for sure that a new Secret Traitor will be selected, but I suspect Donna will be replaced. Here are the individuals I believe are the top contenders…

Stephen Colletti 

Stephen Colletti is keeping a low profile on The Traitors, which will likely help him advance in the game. The Laguna Beach alum isn’t on anyone’s radar at the moment. The Faithfuls seem confident he is one of them, and the Traitors don’t seem to view him as an immediate threat. Although Stephen is perceived as non-threatening to his fellow players, it is clear to viewers at home that he is quite intelligent. It is evident in his confessionals that he has a solid understanding of the game and he appears keenly aware of the social dynamics within the castle. For these reasons, I think he would make a great Secret Traitor. I trust that he will be able to conceal his power, and convince his fellow players that he is merely a powerless faithful. Also, he is the only actor in the group, which may give him an advantage.

Tiffany Mitchell

Tiffany Mitchell played a brilliant, strategic game on Big Brother 23. She didn’t win the game, but she earned a prestigious reputation within the Big Brother fandom. There is a reason that Survivor legend Rob Cesternino treated her with such reverence in The Traitors premiere. She really is a big deal within the gamers community.

I believe we are only seeing half of Tiffany’s abilities because of her current position as a Faithful. She is itching for some power, and I hope she gets it. The current Traitors are playing it safe, but I know Tiffany would shake up the game. She would considerable thought into who to put on the shortlist for murder. There is, however, one downside to choosing Tiffany. Unlike Stephen, she isn’t skating by unnoticed. Colton Underwood suspects she is a Traitor, which means she could be headed out the door soon if he brings his theory to the roundtable.

Speaking of Colton, he would also be a solid choice to replace Donna. The Bachelor alum has received praise for his perceptiveness and strategic ability, drawing comparisons to Traitors Season 2 standout Peter Weber. Colton didn’t come here to coast. And we want a Secret Traitor who is ready to get their hands dirty. It’s clear to us that Colton is a competitor, but his fellow players may not view him that way. He is best known for being on a dating show, so his cast mates not view him as a strategic threat. His background could help him conceal his role as the Secret Traitor.

Each podcast episode “will provide expert perspectives of The Traitors’ upcoming fourth season, with Boston Rob breaking down strategic gameplay decisions and mission twists.” In addition, “Bob the Drag Queen delivers signature commentary on the looks, style moments, and pure drama that define the castle aesthetic.” This podcast sounds incredible!

Each episode will feature murdered and banished players who will share some tea about what viewers didn’t see during Season 4. Plus, a special preview of the podcast will drop on January 5th.

Meanwhile, this podcast pairing is interesting because Boston Rob engineered Bob the Drag Queen’s banishment. However, Bob all but announced that Rob was also a Traitor. His hints cast a cloud of suspicion on Rob, leading to his own ouster during Season 3 Episode 7.

Season 3 of The Traitors might be over, but Bob the Drag Queen isn’t done terrorizing the Real Housewives fans. It all started when he convinced his fellow Traitors to target the first ladies of Bravo. That resulted in Dorinda Medley and Chanel Ayan being among the first players murdered.

At the Season 3 reunion, Bob clashed with both of the early-out Housewives. Please don’t tell Dorinda we said this, but he kind of demolished them both during their arguments. And if that wasn’t enough torture, now Bob is throwing shade at the Housewives fans. Nobody is safe.

Bob the Drag Queen faced Real Housewives backlash after Traitors

Although Bob didn’t clash with all of the Housewives on The Traitors, his bloodlust for them at the beginning of the game had plenty of Bravo fans frustrated. In an interview with Pride, Bob basically told everyone to get over it.

“I don’t know who they thought they were going up against. Bring them all on honey! I did not go as hard as I could. If you don’t believe me, go watch Sibling Rivalry. I was being very kind to the Housewives,” Bob teased.

Of course, we know that Real Housewives fans can be brutal, but according to Bob, they’re nothing compared to the RuPaul’s Drag Race fandom. We think they’re all equally terrifying, but Bob spoke from his firsthand experience.

“The Housewife fans … they’re tweeting from an account called Dorinda’s wine glass or Nene Leakes’ wig or Robyn’s elbow,” Bob joked. ‘These Drag Race fans are tweeting from their actual work page! Drag Race fans are bold honey and Housewife fans are old.”

Bob said that he hasn’t ruled out other reality TV adventures, like The Amazing Race or even taking another shot at Traitors. Either way, he’s not worried about drawing the ire of any fandoms.

“If I can survive the Drag Race fandom, I can survive anything,” Bob declared.

And his dream list includes none other than Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes.

Is NeNe Leakes on The Traitors Season 4?

Not only did Bob say he wants NeNe to do The Traitors, but he hoped that they would have taken it on together.

“If there is one Housewife I want to see on this show, get NeNe Leakes on The Traitors. I was hoping with every fiber of my being that she would be on my season,” he told US Weekly.

The reality TV star also shared his two cents on the other celebrities he thinks would be perfect for Season 4.

“TS Madison would be amazing. Monét X Change would be fantastic on the show. Plane Jane … would be really phenomenal on the show as well.”

This isn’t the only series that has NeNe’s name written all over it. After leaving RHOA following a chaotic Season 12, fans have wanted her to make her Bravo return ever since. And recently NeNe actually said that she would come back to the show, for the right price of course. To choose The Traitors or to choose RHOA next? Now that is the question.

Season 3 of The Traitors concluded last night with Gabby, Ivar, Dolores, and Dylan splitting the $204,300 prize pot. This was the most Faithful to finish the game together, delivering a lighthearted ending to an otherwise cutthroat season.

Of course, a season wouldn’t be complete without a reunion hosted by Andy Cohen, but in the past, these reunions have felt inconsequential. This year’s followed suit and there wasn’t a ton of drama for the players to discuss. However, it’s our duty to bring you all of the tea, so we’ve got the breakdown of The Traitors Season 3, Episode 12, “Reunion.”

What happened in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 12?

Andy sat down with the winners and losers of Season 3 to dish out all of the drama that went down in the castle. Some players were excited to discuss their Season 3 journey while others had unfinished business. Then, there were a few people who barely got a word in. Keep on reading for our big takeaways from the Season 3 sitdown.

The four winners and their “kumbaya” ending

In past finales, we’ve seen Faithful dreams get crushed at the Fire of Truth. Honestly, some of us are still bitter about how they did Mercedes Javid in Season 2.

In comparison, Season 3’s finale was a lot less dramatic, with the four Faithful players all choosing to end the game. There was no greed and no betrayal. Although some fans feel like that made for an anticlimactic ending, the winners explained to Andy that it all came down to trust.

“They really just like drove us into the ground, those Traitors,” Gabby explained. “I feel like by the end, I’m like ‘Come on,’ yeah it’s a little kumbaya, but I feel like we all really trusted each other.”

For Dylan, he said he felt confident about Britney’s banishment at the final roundtable. Her argument was so solid that he knew she had to be guilty of something. Therefore, he felt confident ending the game with the remaining players. Meanwhile, Ivar and Dolores were just happy to be there.

Carolyn felt disrespected in the castle

What would Season 3 of The Traitors have been without sweet, sweet Carolyn? The Survivor alum and her facial expressions had the Faithfuls confused, the Traitors annoyed, and the audience intrigued. During the reunion, Andy asked if she felt “respected” by her fellow Traitors, and that’s when the tears started flowing. According to Carolyn, she never felt the love.

“I felt it. I saw it,” Carlyn said of the disrespect in the castle.

Danielle tried to chop it up to miscommunication, but even Gabby said she saw the disrespect towards Carolyn when watching the season. It’s not a miscommunication to call someone dumb and compare them to Forrest Gump.

Ultimately, it’s all water under the bridge now. Neither of them won, and as Dolores pointed out, Carolyn is now raking in a lot of money on Cameo. She gained a whole lot of new fans from this experience, and that’s a prize in itself.

Danielle has zero regrets about her gameplay

The most controversial Traitor of Season 3 was definitely Danielle. Her theatrics and questionable strategies left the audience at home confused and slightly annoyed. We’re all watching her and thinking, “How can they not tell she’s a Traitor?”

To make matters worse, Danielle was going around the castle swearing on her grandkids, and she made it very clear at the reunion that she didn’t feel bad about it. We’re not sure what’s more shocking — the fact that she’s someone’s grandma or the fact that she had no regrets about swearing on their lives.

Although Danielle got a lot of criticism for her gameplay, Andy pointed out that she still did pretty well in the game, all things considered. She outlasted all of the original Traitors this season, and she almost made it to the finale. It seems like her only regret from this show was trusting Britney.

Bob the Drag Queen took on the Housewives

The Traitors kicked off the season by targeting Housewives, so of course, they had to answer to that at the reunion. Andy was like “Why the f*ck did you go after the Housewives?”

With that in mind, Dorinda came out on the stage in her Ferragamo dress ready to play. She felt salty about getting murdered first and even saltier that Bob the Drag Queen went around joking about it on social media once the show aired.

“I didn’t dislike you, I just murdered you,” Bob told the Real Housewives of New York alum.

Never in a million years did we think we’d see Dorinda and Bob going back and forth at a reunion moderated by Andy, but we’re so glad it happened. Props to Bob for surviving that encounter. Tinsley Mortimer could never.

Ayan also had some smoke for Bob, but it was lighthearted. She said that Bob murdered her because she was the funniest person in the castle. In her mind, Bob was threatened by her star power. Bob was like, “Call me when you have two comedy specials.”

The main takeaway from this reunion was that Real Housewives and drag queens make reality TV better. The reunion would have suffered if it weren’t for them giving us an ounce of entertainment. The gamers take themselves too seriously. There are people like Nikki, Sam, and Ivar who don’t speak. If it weren’t for Bob and the Housewives injecting some excitement into this reunion, this episode could have been easily skipped. Hopefully the producers keep that in mind for Season 4.
